Title: A little sunshine
Post by: thetworegs on June 11, 2023, 02:15:45 AM
I Woke nice and early this morning had my coffee watered the plants in the garden and got an idea for a song so I popped down the cellar and this one came out and its still only 9am I think its going to be a good day....Thanks for listening
I've shown myself who I was when I started on this road
I've shown myself how i've changed through this journey in time
There was no explanation I had to find out who I am
And man did it take me some time

Now I knew I needed  a little sunshine
A little sunshine to shine within my heart
I needed me a little sunshine
To get rid of that rain
get rid of that rain

It took a while
to see through the mist
of anger stemming from my youth
Slowly
i started to understand
what it was that made this man before you
It turned out all I needed was a little sunshine
A little sunshine to shine
All I needed was a little bit of sunshine
A little bit of sunshine to shine in my heart
Yeah a little bit of sunshine to shine in my heart

Break

Since I met you its been nothing but blue sky
I'm finally happy, at who I become
You we're that sunshine
That sunshine that hid behind the clouds
No more rain just the bright blue sky
No more looking behind me waiting for the rain
I finally got that sunshine I needed
Now there's more rain
No more rain
No more rain
No more rain

A nice song for the morning indeed. Introspection that hits the spot today.

incredible love song Trev... and for me... it is what happens when family arrives in our hearts... more than just the family we grew up with, the ones we are born into, but the thing that happens when family arrives through us!

a beautiful strum... so good.

You got my ear right off the bat with the excellent acoustic guitar riffing! Once the vocal entered with the thoughtful message in the words, I had to sit back and just listen. A cool song and performance Trevor!

Trevor, this is a beautiful piece. I am sitting here just really digging it on headphones. You are chanelling some really great vibes and we can truly hear the happiness coming through. Love the words. There is a lovely line in your intro post "I think its going to be a good day", could be a great song title?

Anyway fantastic song.

Mike

Been away from the board awhile and this is 1st song I've listened to here. Very fitting in so many ways. Nice piece of work on so many levels. Excellent vocals and lyrics! Love it!

Really emotional and powerful stripped down performance that would blow people away at an open mic.  This kind of feels like when a 80s hard rock band does the occasional killer-good laid back ballad, unexpectedly hitting the top of the charts, driven by the lead vocalist with great power and grit to his voice and guitarist who can play acoustic just as well as electric.  And when you say it was all done before 9 am, I bow down to your skill!
