Astrud Gilberto passed away yesterday at the age of 83. Most famous for singing 'The Girl From Ipanema', which is alleged to be the second-most recorded song in the world (behind 'Yesterday', by the Beatles) and practically served as an introduction to Bossa Nova for the rest of the world. She sings several songs on the 'Getz/Gilberto' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getz/Gilberto) album (1964), which was similarly influential among jazz and Hifi enthusiasts.

This version of 'The Girl From Ipanema' from the album 'Getz/Gilberto' features her then-husband João Gilberto on guitar singing the lyrics in Portuguese, followed by Astrud singing in English, followed (in the grand tradition of jazz solos) by Stan Getz on saxophone and Antônio Carlos Jobim (who co-wrote the song) on piano.
