I just read that Ray Shulman of Gentle Giant died a couple of days ago.  I always loved Gentle Giant.

My favorite prog band, and one of my favorite bass players. Amazing bassist, violinist, and composer. The youngest of the Shulman brothers. RIP Ray.

RIP Ray Schulman...one heck of a multi prog. instrumentalist. Gentle Giant's music lives on even though they disbanded in 1983. Rob Grant, DrC, and I wrote a song about 15 years back in honor of Gentle Giant. It's called Flying a Kite. I'm gonna have to dig into my song files to see if I can find it.

That live Playing the Fool album is a treasure I found among my brother's collection. An amazing band.

Sad to hear, he was an amazing bassist. I love the crazy runs he does in songs like "Giant". He was also a great string arranger and wrote some great parts.
