I can't honestly say I was a big fan, but I did love his first hit single from 1967 with The First Edition, "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)". Great song.

He's a proper legend. I love so many of his songs. And his Kenny Rogers Roasters restaurants (don't even know if they still exist). When it gets hot I say that it's 'Kenny Rogers Roasters out there', and nobody in Britain knows what the hell I'm talking about.
Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.
This makes me quite sad. Probably the 1st musician I ever connected with as a kid. As a very young adult I had a velvet Kenny hanging in at least my 1st 3 apartments. I remember when my (soon to be wife) refused to let me hang it in our 1st home together...sadly velvet Kenny has since been lost and is only a memory.
Rock on Kenny!
Sad...RIP Kenny Rogers. Lucille, Lady, Island in the Stream and many more......

We could have a Kenny Rogers mini-fest if enough people are interested and willing to post a Kenny Rogers cover.

Goodnight to a legend, rest easy Kenny.
