Title: What do you think about ANDALUSIAN CADENZA (Spanish cadence)?
Post by: Jean Pierre on April 06, 2019, 12:43:06 AM
what do you think of the Spanish cadence?
The Andalusian cadenza is, as its name suggests, a progression of chords typical of flamenco and flamenco rumba ( Am, G, F, E...) However, it is also widely used in rock, French song, oriental music and other styles of popular music. This cadence is excellent if you want to compose a song that sounds Spanish, oriental, or that may have a dark hue (example One more cup of coffee for the road Dylan)

There are so many songs inspired by this cadence

Hit the road Jack, Ray Charles
Sultans of swing Dire strait
Happy together The Turtles
Amsterdam, Jacque Brel
California dreamin' Mamas and dads
Good vibrations, Beach boys

and which ones do you know?

....that could be the theme of a future theme festival, right?

Please post the suggestion in the "Suggestions for future festivals" topic. We always check there for ideas before we make our choices for the festival polls.
