She was 90 on Christmas day, and lives on her own, so I invited her for Christmas dinner as I was on my own while Fran was in New Zealand, but unfortunately she had a fall just before Christmas and broke her hip, she was in hospital for many weeks, then when she got home she has spent the rest of her year in bed, most of the time in pain, her cancer had returned,
Chappie was a great lady, we would often share a bottle of Malt, while she rolled her Old Holburn cigs, and swore like a trooper, :D.
Yesterday when I went to see her she said, I will not be here tomorrow and want to tell you, I will miss you, That tickled me its normally the other way around, anyway I got a call at 3.30 this morning, she had passed away in her sleep,
I will miss her, she was a character.

Sorry to hear the loss of your friend Alex, she did sound like quite a lady though.

So sad.
Terrible news but a tender goodbye. She sounds like she led a full life.

May her spirit always be with you.
