I think one or two people here have wished for something like this. It detects the pitch in your voice as you sing, whistle or hum and uses it to trigger a midi instrument. You can also trigger midi drums with it.
It's a free web app. Unfortunately, it currently only works in Chrome.

I tried it in Chromium but it refused to work, saying I needed Chrome. I don't understand that since Chrome and Chromium are essentially the same browser.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm we are really losing our grip on musical instruments, this actually makes me sad,it's s great tool but it's another nail in the real instruments coffin.
