Ages ago, I posted this funk backer in the collabs section.

I forgot all about it until I got a twitter message from one of the guys involved in the local BBC Introducing scene. He said he'd heard my stuff on the radio (BBC Tees Introducing Show) & would I be interested in working with him? Cutting a long story short, he asked if I had any unfinished tunes in need of a vocal, and this one popped into my head, I sent it to him & we did a bit of back & forth and came up with this...
King Zog Funk - John Robson & Mandrake Fraser
He came up with a lyric about the Albanian dictator King Zog... no, I have no idea either :) Still, it's goos to see the tune go to a good home.
Just got a tweet today from the local BBC radio station & they've made it their track of the week... lots of airplay! WooHoo! :) :) :) :) :)
Call me wonky, but the verses sounds like 80's-era Stones in spots. The chorus and bridge sound like nothing I've heard.
Lovely solo as per your usual. Nice arpeggios.

Great news John,
Congratulations, you deserve it,
Loving your Solo, as always.

Rock on!
Top class by both of you!! Amazing performance!
Congrats!
Great backer John.
Complex, but very well played and recorded.

Listened to this yesterday - blooming great collab. love the quirkiness of this - it really works in layers and waves.
