Title: "Pawn Shop Blues" a Hook original

I got a buddy who periodically has his instruments pawned to pay bills, these lyrics popped into my head yesterday. I put it to music today, all done on the br80.
1 uke/vocal (stereo)
1 harmonica (stereo)
1 lead uke (stereo)
Pawn Shop Blues
written & performed by Hook
Got a gig tonight but I have no guitar
the pawn shop took my chance at being a star

first went my guitar then my saxophone
they're the only two that are worth a dime you know
all the others are just a bill here & there
but it all adds up when you're getting nowhere

I tried to sell them this here harmonica
told them Steven Tyler played it but I shouldn't of
made a big fuss with a nice old gent
a couple moments later out the door I went

A friend of mine loaned me his old beach guitar
needs a new set of strings but right now it's in my car
and if I hurry I might make it on time]8
hope they can hear me acoustic cuz my PA is fried

Got to the gig boy wasn't I surprised
the guitar in the case was of miniature size
only had four strings but I tuned them up quick
& I  beat up that ukulele with a guitar pick

Amazing, the same thing happened to me!

Kidding.  Fantastic lyric over nice easy music.  Well conceived, played and recorded.

Great story and beautifully played. I loved it. I can hear this being sung around a camp fire or at a party.

Cool song. Tells a story a lot of us can relate to. I remember those early, lean, mean years.
