Title: Ain't That So by Oldrottenhead
Post by: Oldrottenhead on June 14, 2017, 05:51:56 AM
my ears are frazzled mixing and mastering this one. i learnt a few things when i did the frank black song calistan. so tried to use the things i learned.  ???

the music for this one and arrangement was done entirely on my ipad in garageband. i tried to do the vocals in garageband but it's inbuilt mic isn't up to the job. may have to purchase a mic that is compatible with the ipad.

anyway once i had arrangement and mix the way i wanted it. i transferred the music to my br800 and recorded the vocals using my microbr as a mic via the line in.

am not 100% happy with final mix or the vocals but hey! it is what it is.

Who knows what tomorrow
when today is done
and yesterday's survivors
are they still having fun
well nothing really matters
cos everything's a dream
ain't that so
ain't that so

but baby i'll still love you
until the day I die
my love is unconditional
I know you understand
that I will always be here
despite our hopes and fears
and we'll laugh at our failures
and pick ourselves back up
ain't that so
ain't that so

and when we wake tomorrow
and yesterday is gone
just what will we remember
and what have we forgot
we'll miss those that we've lost
and cherish those we've got
ain't that so
ain't that so

For someone who does things the hard way, you make some stunning music.

Voice > tin can > string > tin can > MBR > yoyo string > Br800 > fax machine > iPad > magic > MP3

The mix sounds great to me,sometimes you can spend so much time on a mix it clouds your own perspective of it.
I love the lyrics on this, they are excellent .
A great tune mate,bravo.
