I got a phone call early hours this morning That my Uncle ,Bill Wilkie MBE, had died in hospital, he was 95 but had been in Hospital for the past month just fading away he must have been down to a couple of stone in weight,
He was a brilliant musician and a great friend and uncle , I will miss him sadly, He ran the Bill Wilkie Accordian festival for 60 years, Apart from a show of a night with musicians from around the world, He also organised the festival for young musicians judged through the Friday and Saturday of the festival, He would also have some brilliant stories of his time entertaing the troops through the war along with Peter Sellers, Always reminded me of the tv show, It aint arf hot mum...

Sorry for your loss, Alex. From what I've seen online, your uncle seemed like quite a guy.
I looked him up as well - A very impressive individual. He reminds me a little of my grandfather, not a musician but more a mentor of my curiosity. Sad indeed, my condolences.
