Sad to see that Joni Sledge of Sister Sledge has passed away aged 60. Although I wouldn't admit it during my punk/new wave days, I was always secretly fond of the band due to their connection to Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic.

Saw this on the news this morning. I remember strutting my funky stuff at school discos to Lost In Music... then later (as a 17 year old) their stuff would get played when I went to The Madison nightclub in Middlesbrough (known locally as "The Madhouse"). Sad news. RIP Joni.
RIP Joni - can't have grown up in that era and not hear that music without raising a bit of a smile.
