Title: The Holiday Wish Thread for 2016
Post by: Blooby on November 23, 2016, 08:48:37 AM

I've seen a few people mention holiday wishes already, so I thought it might be cool to put them in a central place.

Personally, I am writing Santa for one of these three:

I'm hoping for another lump of coal. The one that Santa gave me last year is almost gone and the weather's getting very cold.

:)

This new synth from Modal Electronics of Bristol, England looks like a lot of fun for not much money. Only £79. You can pre-order it now and expect delivery around December 6th.

They call it a kit but I think that just means that it ships flat as a bunch of circuit boards that you snap together. There's no soldering involved and they say it takes less than 10 minutes to assemble it.

There's also an editor available for iOS, OSX, Windows and Android. They say it's "optional". I don't know if that means you'll have to pay extra for it, or if it merely means that it's not required to operate the synth but is available for free as an alternative way to control the synth. There's a quick look at the editor in the SonicState video starting at 11:30.

It transmits and receives MIDI over USB, so you can connect a USB MIDI keyboard controller to actually play music on it.
