I have hemmed and hawed about posting this for a couple months. Today was the "to hell with it" moment. Live from a semi-recent gig.
House mixer into the Micro BR. Vocal reverb was printed via the soundboard, so I couldn't dial it back after the fact. Apologies for the gratuitous guitar solo over the loop (a spontaneous decision), but that's how it went down. The envelope filter was a bit nasal on this night.

i often think
we speak the same language but we are so different,
then something comes along to show how similar we all really are.
I love this.......yes I do.
Very cool and live version to boot guys! I'm surprised how well this song works with just the acoustic and vocal. Also nice solo over the loop Blooby. I'd love to drink a couple of brews and watch you both perform in the pub!
Farrell
Blooby Well Right! :)
Great vocals from Lurker and your playing is the bees-knees. I was about to ask if you used a looper during the solo (very Jerry) - were you playing over a loop? Nice one, gents.
Jaaaaz this is blxxxdy class 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
Brilliant vocals -but its the acoustic???
The solo -classy -

I feel we should be running toward each other in slow motion...in a meadow...arms outstretched. I am thinking Debussy would be playing the background...perhaps Saint-Saens or maybe something from a Walt Disney film that involves animated farm animals. And just prior to embracing, we would engage in the fish-slapping dance and eventually, we would verbally abuse each over level of vocal reverberation.
Am I close?
i love that song...
a very nice cover!
how are you looping the ending live? pedal?
Great Vox, Great Guitar, great number...
Bloody Well Done......
Alex
Crime Of The Century is one of my top 5 favourite albums & you do a great version of one of the stand out tracks. Love the solo, by the way!

you old romantic you.
maybe replace Debussy with Satie and we could be at a potter's wheel.
This is awesome. Nothing gratuitous about the guitar solo in my opinion. Great guitar and great vocals. Marvelous.
Paul
Fantastic guitar work there Blooby, and the voca as usual is brilliant.
Coincidentally I would pay good money to see that potters wheel embrace ,perhaps you could both form a clay whiskey bottle and call it old bloobenhead
Loved the tune, a little disturbed by the thread.
Rock on!
Bloody well good !!! :-)
Great vocals and guitar playing : just one man and his guitar, a great classic !
Jean-Sébastien
Sounded great, Blooby, you've got a great voice. The opening riff reminded me of the Allman Brothers' "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl".

It's my Boss RC-20. The loop was done on the fly (I will sometimes look over to John and say, "I feel like taking a solo"), but I edited out a few seconds where I'm setting up the loop, the reason being just to help the flow of the recording a tad.
Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, during those "few seconds" I left the stage, went to the loo, stood in line, got a beer, chatted with a few members of the audience, designed and constructed a bridge spanning the Gulf of Mexico from Cedar Key to Galveston (after getting all of the necessary permits of course), and then I ....
I thought I commented the other day. Really enjoyed this, bloody great this is ;D Seriously though, you guys are great live - and such a range of songs. Brilliant.

I never was wild about this song, but i can honestly say i enjoyed this version more than the huge production of the Tramps version. It's clean, stripped down, and HONEST. Great solid playing...loved the lead...and the vox are stellar. At times, the vocal phrasing reminds me a bit of Ozzy for some reason. Anyway, it's great take and a fine effort.
Not familiar with the original, but I like your live performance!
The guitar sounds like a dream - clean and bright tone! Excellent singing as well!
With mixer and MBR - this is very professional recording! Just great!!
Brilliant.
Quality. That is some performance. Flawless guitar, on the money. And those vocals... brilliant.
That was live... wow...!
