Title: Been to the movies.
Post by: Johnny Robbo on January 18, 2016, 06:49:24 AM
Had a rare night out over the weekend. Me & the missus went to the pictures to see The Revenant, the new western with Leonardo Di Caprio. The best film I've seen in many a year... absolutely stunning: the acting, the cinematography, the plot, the casting... everything is just superb! I don't normally get evangelical about films that I've seen, but (regardless of whether you're a western fan or not), go & see this film - it's actually better than the hype!!!

Here's the trailer:

I also saw this film and ditto on what Johnny said. If the grizzly bear scene doesn't have you flinching, you are made of steel. One of the best movies to come along in a while....my wife even enjoyed it.

Yes Johnny a great movie. Another great movie showing just now is Tarantinos the hateful eight. Another western 😊. Great cinematography but the dialogue is the clincher. Tarantinos best movie to date imho.

Would also recommend " Macbeth" with Michael Fassbinder playing Macbeth. I know, Shakespeare. Is awesome.

Watched Legend on DVD last night - just came out. About the Krays, brilliant movie, but very, very violent.

One of my regulars.  My favorite scene is when Gene Wilder is trying to lure the monster back with violin playing, and Marty Feldmen chimes in with a couple poignant notes with his French horn.

Priceless.

Ha...so many scenes I loved the one after a roll on the hay and the monster walks towards the music and the lady says "one or ten times and your off with the boys.....You better keep your mouth shut 😊
