Title: Survived the Haggis!
Post by: peterp on September 16, 2015, 09:44:16 AM
Just back from hols, part of it was spent floating around Scotland.
Couple of days in Dumfries, couple in Edinburgh and a week Globus bus tour loop from Glasgow around the highlands ending up back in Edinburgh.

Travelling with wife and 3 sisters the non stop shopping in Edinburgh was insane,
but did they let me buy just one little set of bagpipes noooo.

21 days of not touching an instrument I am in major withdrawals, sort of forgot which end of a guitar you blow into.  :D

Whatever you do  - avoid blowing into any bagpipes.

Ha, if you don't give them the air then the sweet grating sounds won't come out!

Caught one act while there at The Jam House, an amazing accordion player, a piper and a couple of fiddles & singers.
That was a first did not know the accordion was popular in Scotland, rather annoyed I did not get their names.

But I did discover "The Red Hot Chilli Pipers" (http://www.redhotchillipipers.co.uk/)!
