Quotehmmm.... not sure if your heart was in this but I liked it better than some songs you did before of your own writings. Some things you did in the past made me frightened.

QuoteThere are some words printed in the lyrics pages here. It helped me to hear what is said and it was hard to know what some of it meant. I will look for 'wench'

This orh response to Bluesberry had me rolling.

Quote from: Bluesberry on March 11, 2015, 04:49:29 PMThis is totally fantastic, it doesn't feel like a throw-off, or a tosser, or any other such words for self-indulgient wankery..........it feels like an organic nugget of wonderment, musical wonderment, a feeling, a mood, a stream of thought, a well thought out meandering along a mountain brook, through a high medow on route to an old cabin.....where a fire waits crackling...to warm the tired journeyman and refresh before heading on the journey.........and in the corner sits a old Martin Guitar.......and the wanderer finds the guitar pleasing to look at, and hold................and in that moment spills forth a little re-telling of his journey...............steel strings, wood vibrating........fire cracking.............pot of stew warming over the fire...........and the sound of contentment pouring out the open door............I could listen to this all day.

I'm sorry, but I just find this whole thread frickin' hysterical. I am laughing so hard right now, I can barely type. Here's the latest...

Quote from: Oldrottenhead on March 03, 2016, 04:39:51 PMi often think we speak the same language but we are so different. Then something comes along to show how similar we all really are.

Quote from: Blooby on March 03, 2016, 06:51:35 PMI feel we should be running toward each other in slow motion...in a meadow...arms outstretched. I am thinking Debussy would be playing the background...perhaps Saint-Saens or maybe something from a Walt Disney film that involves animated farm animals. And just prior to embracing, we would engage in the fish-slapping dance (no need to reference, right?) and eventually, we would verbally abuse each over level of vocal reverberation.

Am I close?

Quote from: Oldrottenhead on March 04, 2016, 03:29:11 AMyou old romantic you.

maybe replace Debussy with Satie and we could be at a potter's wheel.

Quote from: kenny mac on March 04, 2016, 07:31:16 AMI would pay good money to see that potters wheel embrace

This one cracks me up everytime....

Quote from: psychmusic on May 16, 2008, 01:06:26 PMI am a 38 year old novice to intermediate player. I have a passion for the blues, but will play anything. I am blown away by the talent and helpfulness of the folks on this board. By day I am a clinical psychologist. Late at night I sneak down to my basement and play guitar. There have been nights when i close my eyes and play. It feels like flying.

Quote from: SteveG on May 17, 2008, 05:43:09 PMSo late at night you hide in a basement, close your eyes and play guitar? Sounds like perfectly normal behavior to me  :D Next patient please....

ARE YOU RECORDING??????

That's it, that's the "switch" that may lead to domestic violence. I'm certainly not down in the basement with wires dangling from me like an abandoned server room because I'm trying to extract semen from a cat. No, I think it should look fairly obvious that I'm at least not in the mood to be bothered.

Re: anchovies...  ;D

Pasta with anchovies (old traditional Sicilian recipe, very simple, very tasty. I've cooked it just yesterday...)

In a little pan put some anchovies, olive oil  and a clove of garlic. Low flame, till the anchovies are melted off, and the whole has a light brown color (3-4 minutes).

In a second little pan put some crumbled bread, again at low flame, till it is lightly toasted (again, not more than 4-5 minutes)

Cook the pasta (better bucatini or spaghetti) in salted water (AL DENTE!!!), drain it, put the anchovies etc over it, then the crumbled bread, mix everything and...that's all!

In our tradition it was a "poor" dish, for people who couldn't afford the expense of grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta.

WalMart. $13.95, well worth it. You get 3 in a pack. Red, blue and tan. So you would be set back around 50 bucks if you do your laundry every other week.

I want to see a scene from a movie where this guy walks down some dingy stairs, into a cramped foyer, straightens his tie, and then emerges onto a busy city sidewalk. Then...

That's as far as I've imagined, but that riff is playing the whole time.

I was totally drawn into the story, and then got my brain sucked out with "That's as far as I've imagined". My mindless body is now wandering around with no purpose! It's been a decade :)

The windowless door closes and the foyer is swallowed by darkness again. The music continues. Outside we see a flyer posted to a utility pole: Learn to Play Guitar in 4 Days. The printing is faded, and the paper has yellowed. There are eight tabs at the bottom, each with the same phone number. None of the tabs has been torn off. A male voice mutters, "I don't have that kind of time." It's the guy. He walks past the utility pole. He's thin, with narrow shoulders, wearing a gray sport coat that is two sizes too small. He walks straight, with determination, but no apparent urgency. Ahead there is a column of smoke coming from six-story brick building. The guy walks directly toward the burning building showing no sign of curiosity or surprise – as though he's just going to a corner store for a loaf of bread. The music continues.

I want to ask ChatGPT what happens next, but right now it can't seem to verify that I am human.
