Title: Not Too Young To Dream
Post by: Will23 on March 11, 2013, 09:45:14 AM
Not Too Young to Dream
Yesterday's playground of laughter is silenced by tears and screams.
Struggling to understand through the blood and shattered dreams.
Grateful for survivors, but plagued with survivors guilt.
Why are dreams cut short before they can even be built.

(Pre-Chorus)
I was too young to defend myself, but not too young to dream.
No one knew my last breath would be cut short by evil's next extreme.

(Chorus)
I hear a child scream, hear a mother cry.  I see innocent blood shed.
God we're killing ourselves, another child is dead.
Cycle goes on, madness won't stop.  We try to right anger with rage.
While a wrong for a wrong isn't right, the war is still waged.
Horror shatters my world, as laughter turns to screams.
Too young to defend myself, but not too young to dream.

The day after's a grim reminder, the nightmare really took place.
News brings reality home, with each pain filled precious face.
The plans I made for today I don't care about anymore.
Fighting for our children now, in a different kind of war.
(Bridge)
A war of a different kind, that should never have to be fought.
God don't leave when we need You most as justice is sought.
