Hey there, I thought I would give a go with writing a guitar instrumental type of song (after hearing so many great sounding ones posted on here). All playing is by me. Les Paul Classic and cheap Crate bass. For effects I played around with Smoothld and Thirdz (and 1+1=3 for the ambient background stuff), with a bit of Vox Wah pedal at the end. I hope you enjoy it. I call it Greet the Day. Cheers. Comments greatly appreciated.
I like the name and the song. When first started it had an Eerie feeling (alone in the woods at night) so the name just really came.
great tune-i love that kind of stuff
i agree with guitarron - very cool stuff!!
Really cool wah stuff. :o What did you use? Great instrumental you got here. Nice playing, too. I agree, sort of an eerie feeling to it and that's what got me hooked.
Greet The Day...To find the earth overrun by flesh eating, guitar playing ZOMBIES!!!!!!! Muahahahaha!!
Nah, its really cool...Reminds of Zappa..Especially towards the end! 8)
Yeah, Exactly! Zappa[ish] [I am the slime]

Excellent, I really enjoyed this. Giving those strong solos an atmospheric backing really creates a different feel, giving a nice haunting quality. The ambient-ish guitar really gives it an edge. I like the drums you've used as well, they complement the whole feel. Bass is a bit low tho - I can only really hear it when I play this through headphones. But only a minor issue.
Cheers,
Nigel
WOW !!! fantastic stuff. loved the wahwah solo.
this is your best post here by a country mile.
more of this please !
Tony J.
Rather fine.
It's been a Joe's Garage sort of week so this is quite fitting.
You've gone to a whole new level with this one... amazing :)
Thanks ever so much for the comments. This song just fell out of the sky. It started as laying down chords to jam over, and then the whole thing just took off (it wrote itself). Two nights of work and here it is. A real gift for sure. I am so pleased it turned out the way it did and that you good folks responded to it. This really makes my day, thanks.

Oh no, don't say that! I've been struggling with various ideas and have spent the last two nights faffing around with drum beats, synth sounds and lyrics but have nothing to show for it so far. Don't make it sound too easy...... You'll be churning them out like some of the other folks on this site if you;re not careful :)
Still enjoying this one. Good job.
Cheers,
Nigel
damn this is awsome, the ending tho! i could just hear an
epic fade out kinda thing with you blasting away on the wah!
Phew... good shit

The best ones always do. But you have to be in the right place to catch them when they do - i.e. with a guitar in your hands and the BR nearby!
And I can hear the hard work that went into honing this into a finished product.
Every time I here your guitar work it gets better. Lets here another!!!
Yes very good , I really liked the Wah effect ..
This is awesome Bluesberry! I'll definately be looking forward to what you churn out next! Good job!
i have been working on a Zep classic for most of the day...time to chill and this on headphones is how to chill FANTASTIC!
thanks
Tony J.
its awesome stuff . you realy let rip with this !
life is life i know . but this is a breath of fresh air
How you get it done in 2 nights is beyond me. Takes me all week. Great I love the eerie quality.
This is great Stuff!!! Love everything about it ;D ;D
Love the wah and the Ghostlike Feeling to this song.
Looking forward to more!!
Keep Jammin
JIM ;D
This is deadly, especially the wah solo, I can hear some Gilmour in there, and he's a god (small g, of course :-) There's definately some great focus happening with the guitar work lately, you rock!
I agree with all the above - great work! Nice style going there. 8)
Tell me, does a real Wah go hi when up or down? Never used one myself but have an effect patch that can go either way with programming. :-\
got it on a CD in the car
Dude I love it.
It projects the image of aurora borealis on a timeless night.

I just noticed this comment, Thanks FuzzFace. Hey Fuzz, where you hiding lately, any wild and crazy music to share with us?
Great guitar instrumental - you are one WAH man on guitar !! This tune was before my time on here so I'm glad that you bumped it!! Impressive & pleasantly surprized!!
Slinky fretboard skills mate , how do you begin to come up with an instumental piece like this , do you improvise or build it up slowly , or do you write it down as musical notation , i'm very impressed , also how many track's did you put down for the final mix.

Excellent instrumental! I downloaded it and added it to my song/music library,,, I agree with the bass part, I would most definetly increase the bass on it - kind of like adding the blackness to the night sky, and right when the twilight is breaking through.
If you have alonger version - can send it to my e-mail under my profile.
Thanks!!!
Reminds me a bit of nothing else matters......... But that is one of my all time fav's.... so this was a pleasure to listen to....!!!!
There is talent.....
There is serious talent.........
Then you have BB.........
All Osckilo's songs seem to fall out the sky in the same way.........
Great tune..
I'm glad I goyt the chance to listen to this one!
Peace BB
T(Osckilo)
it sounds to me like a lot of hard work has paid off.
a lot of passion for your music and instrument is felt here.
theres blues , floyd and your own personal style.
and quite a bit of tech know how on how this thing works too.
headfones gives the best listen.
Hey BB - This is a big one. A fantastic arrangement.
I don't want more - the best is in my hands right now...
As you already know, I'm a fan.
Mark
Great bump, I really liked this one when I first heard it and I still do. Clever use of effects. I see that little hint of "Nothing Else Matters" that Osckilo mentioed here. It's really moody.
Cheers,
Nigel
missed this one first time around...but thanks to "On this Day" feature, I get to enjoy it. This is sweet...fabulous playing.
I say ah...bump-dat-sucka!
a pearl i missed too. yeah baby yeah bb
Really nice instrumental . i felt like i was on a lost island . with that guitar crying
sort of bluesy feel . it sounded liked dolphins. crying out for help to help me get
off the island. lo very nice. sound great tune. and glad i was able to catch this
song well executed. MUSIC has no boundries Neil
The "Nothing Else Matters" first few notes changed to a whole new song that soars.
Nice playing BB.
excellent! Are those the drums on the Boss machine? I would love to know how to programme them like that. The guitar playing was really cool and full of freedom. Kept me listening to the end.

Thanks again everyone. I am still very fond of this little song I did 18 months ago, I really learned a lot about my microBR from this one, and it turned out pretty good, thats the bonus. Drums are from the microBR, at the time I didn't do anything too fancy, I was still learning my way around the small wonder machine. Nowadays I would add some reverb and delay to my drums to liven them up a bit more.
on this day two years ago
bump
Thanks for the bump Jim....................On This Day, 2 years ago, I finally felt like I was getting somewhere with the microBR, and the whole home recording thing. The sounds in my head were finally getting out the way I imagined it sounding. This was two years ago, hard to believe.
Nice bump, not heard this before.
BB, your comment has made me think that it's funny how each project takes you further and you get closer to achieving that almost unobtainable ability to make it sound like you imagined... but when you listen back to what you did a few years ago, before you had the knowledge you have now, you find you were already doing most of it and didn't realise it! (that's what happens to me, anyway :D)
Lovely post.
A little belter from, The Random Dozen.
Top class my friend.
