this evening i had the good fortune of meeting a fellow songcrafter. some of you may be aware i am a care worker and one of the guys i support religiously goes every tuesday to a wee folk night at the ettrick bar in old kilpatrick. last week i posted some field recordings from there.
much to my delight a vaguely familiar stranger approached and said i recognise yeah fae some of yer phoatees. my first thought was an old classmate, then it clicked.......JOHN!!! side effect FMGWABP.
john it was a pleasure meeting you an seeing your pristeen (in comparison to mine) micro br. next time bring some batteries. unfortunately no camera to document this meeting.
you made ma night john. till the next time. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Cool! You must hold the record for most Songcrafters members met in person.
- Geir
- Greeny
- Flash Harry
- OsCKilO
- Kenny Mac
- Side Effect
I'm sure I've missed some.
not forgetting
jimbo mackellar
and i noticed a new arrival last night
james frew.
It was great to meet you and your friend Jim, loved the chat and the music too, no batteries very remiss of me what a bummer :o :o
i'll let you off this time. ;D ;D
that said it is very rare for me not to have my mbr at hand.
Cool!
That is cool, often wondered if I will meet any of you one day, maybe another JK gig somewhere would be a good start??
Make it so!
There's nothing better than meeting a fellow Songcrafter. I've got 2 under my belt, and both of them felt like I'd known them my entire life.
Congrats Jim and John!

He met P.J ...a.k.a Wiley
wiley! ach! so he did. i'm getting too auld.
and i know john lives a 30 minute train ride away.
So kewl... Hopefully you guys made a recording on something.... Iphone... Android... anything!!! So far I've only met BR users and have recruited a few... I even met a guitar player this weekend who started using an MBR after I had shown it to another friend of mine... they all love the MBR, but I just can't seem to get them to go online... They are all shy musicians... Closet musicians if you will!!! I really think BOSS should look at this site... I'm sure we have collectively drummed up quite a bit of business for them... I'm sure they would be pleased to see how this little gadget has brought musicians together from around the globe!!!
I'm related to a fellow Songcrafter, Johnny Mac, and I've met Bruno, does that count? Come to think of it, Bruno and I have played together at an Open Mic before!
Indeed - I played bass for you one time!
;D
I`ve talked to Tony W and Launched on the phone. Tried to call Rata-tat-Tod but he lives in that
restricted part of the world called Alaska and they restricted me ;D
mark (launched) was on skype and saw the met guys in norway perform a song/jam especially for him. so it was like he was there with us in porsgrunn, no audio recorded but lots of pics he took.
Facemask93 doesn't live far from me, if I keep stalking him we're bound to bump into each other sooner or later ;D
Hey this is a music site not a bloody dating site!
BTW I have met ORH, Greeny, Osckilo, Geir, TheTwoRegs, KeyWiz and there's a guy I work with who says he comes here but I've never seen him on.
And I had a strange conversation with a guy in a jazz club in Venice about this site who seemed to know who I was.....
Quotejazz club
is that what they call them now ::) ::) ::)
May I hasen to add that it was a normal run of the mill pub I met Harry in.......not a so called Jazz club......although the wife did find it a bit strange with me going to meet a man from the Internet .....I had to keep telling her it was not a blind date....
you know he met tharek in a park ::) ::)
and greeny in a "guitar shop" ::) ::)
second time i met him he was creeping about a bus station :o :o

Hi ORH, I tried to send you a PM but each time the browser hangs when I'm sending it....
I'm going to be in Scotland from roughly the 24th July to 4th aug... I'm attending a wedding in Dunkeld on the 28th, sleeping off the hangover on the 29th but am otherwise free to do some R&R&R&R (rest & relaxation & rock & roll). I would love to visit you and see if we can crank out a few jams.
Do you think we could coordinate a little get-together?
will see what i can do but the first week is gonna be tough as i stop for annual leave on the 31st and am working flat out prior to that. then looking at getting away for a week with the wife n kids.
i'll pm you.
Love it guys, glad you could finally meet!

I remember that - A very cool occasion! I think I do have some audio, but it kind of fades in and out as an 8bit warble.

In the UK recently went up to nearly £1.50 per litre (diesel) - equivalent to $8.50 per US gallon - at least!
Here's a useful site for drivers in the USA and Canada.
http://gasbuddy.com/ (http://gasbuddy.com/)
Type in your city and it will show you the current gas prices at all of your local gas stations.
US prices seem to be highest on the west coast and cheapest in the south-east.
http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx (http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx)
Canadian prices are highest in the Northwest Territories and lowest in Alberta, Southern Ontario, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.
http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_can_gastemperaturemap.aspx (http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_can_gastemperaturemap.aspx)
This appears to be a similar site for the U.K., except you have to sign up to get the local prices.
http://www.petrolprices.com/ (http://www.petrolprices.com/)
Minimum price today for diesel is 129.9p, maximum price is 149.9p, and the UK average is 136.73p.
Ive noticed a lot of songcrafters dont put their location on the site,This is a bit frustrating sometimes as when I get any comments I like to see what part of the world the dude is from because to me its an interesting part of the site.
Its not as if its a name and address just what country that person hails from. :)

I found it - About 10 mins of audio, I was getting previews of the cool stuff you all were coming up with. Brought back good memories - You want it?
I remember the event, not the content, I'm guessing that we were rather pissed and rather giddy.
i would love to hear it lol. was i drunk? naw? me? never!
Yeah, I think there was a black aluminum can in most of your hands! ;D
I'll PM you guys the link.
