I did this one for DIY fest... all done on the MBR in one rainy night. Started out as a 6-8 drum beat and then I added the geetars (Buzzy)... Fender Squire plugged straight into the MBR.
I'm not happy with the mix... I did it all on the MBR and am too tired to fix at the momment. Hope you enjoy this version!!!
If anyone wants to lay some lead on this feel free... I aint much of a geetar player....
Oh/// I'll be posting the drum track for this one in collabs. ::) ::) ::) ::)
Excellent creativeness Rata! Your vocals and phrasing is the standout here for me. I like the narration and singing combination. The drums rock bro!
Farrell
Absolutely love this!!! Really fecking good, I'm going straight back in. Has an almost early Alice Cooper vibe to it (the first 5 or so Alice Cooper albums are under-rated classics). I'm thinking I'm gonna be breaking out the SC can...

oh yes...

RTT - loved the playfulness of the mix - distant vocals, and upfront and hard left panned guitars - sounds quite psychedelic. Great stuff.
B.
This is just top stuff, your vox are right on the money, loved the listen, kinda beatles vibe but up dated with the rap, well impressed, loved it will be back for more!!!
love it! So cool...spectacularly quirky, gritty and fun...this rocks!!!
trippy excellence
love this mix
dont touch it.
its braw tell yer maw.
No way... I get an SC can... I do believe this is a first for me unless I missed something... I think maybe your right ORH I should probably leave it alone. Listened back with fresh ears... I'm still amazed at what the MBR can do. I was up late working on this one and even reverted back to my old ways (Recorded the vox in my wifes truck out in the garage). Brought back some memories for sure. I did this one in the same fashion as some of you are doing with my drum tracks. This was a first for me starting with a drum track. I usually start with a hook or melody and work around that. This actually seems a little easier... I'm not so stressed about accents and fills being placed accordingly.
Thanks for the kind comments guys. Nice to feel ur music is appreciated.
Holy Shit, batman... uh Tatman
There is some serious groovy ness going on here.
Absolutely loving them vocals.
Very nice work, RTT.
Nice arrangement and vocals. I like the story it tells. Requires more than one listen to get the full benefit
of the story.
Well done.
What a beezer post. I agree with the others, don't touch it. The mix is an integral part of the quirkiness. Top notch........Willie
Hell, yeah!!! I'm totally soaking this one in. F*cking wayyyyyy badass!!! I agree with the AC comment, loved all those older albums. Matter of fact I just listened to Million Dollar Baby a couple hours ago.
This is fresh and exciting sh*t, bro - Love those high vocals, blended in so well. Something I can never get right. A mindblowing tune, my fave of yours already!
You gotta post the lyrics. Do it.

Dude, that is one stellar cracking guitar riff and love the lyric and vocal effect. Not commenting on drums..The`yre

Great job Tod! You one talented guy!
I hear Jane's Addiction brother.
Drums sound really good. It's refreshing to hear the real Mcoy!
This is a good tune man.
I love that those bass and guitar lines at the end. Makes it sound like a live recording of a jam.

I was listening, grooving hard, loving this, and immediately thought of Mark, this is so Launched-i-fied a groove that I thought it was a coolab between you and Mark. HOLT SHIT batman...........I love everything about this flipping masterful love-groove of a sheeeeebanger. You rock hard my man. You have some crazy good timing, rhythm, groove, shazzzzzam going on. I can see banging my head to this one till it bleeds. Ouch, thats some shit.

BB you nail'd it... Mark doesn't know this yet, but.... Yes this is definately and 100% certifiably Launch inspired. I also remember... (Which is amazing in itself)... a thread where Tony W was talking about his trip to visit (MET) and the techniques that Mark used for recording... I applied some of this principle and often would ask myself...sometiimes out loud... What would Mark do here???... Hmmmm an off beat quirky guitar strum... a trippy bass run... Sound familiar Mark... The song really wrote itself using this approach... I just tried to add some lyrics that were also a kind of off the cuff (Train of Thought) and fit the vibe of the song... which was another method that my bass playin brother used...
As far as the AC reference... "That's High Praise"....But I still think Mark's better....
So you see... it really is the community that inspires. This is no bullshit...Mark...your a true gem here buddy... your songs often leave me wishing I could've wrote that!!! Hope this even came close.
Vann... I aint gonna change it now... but that was just me being lazy and not trimming LOL... Not intentional at all....But I see what ya mean gives it a live type of feeling.... Now get yer ass back here with a song my friend...
Eric I'm hanging up a Wav for ya now!!!
Thanks again fellow songcrafters... I put the drum track in collabs...here (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=15375.0)
Blimey Todd this is bloody superb! What a cracking song! Love everything about it, but you vocals really stand out for me! Flaming heck this is a work of genius! Wonderful listen!
andy
Talk about someone that provides inspiration - That is you, bro! Thanks for the nod, and you are definitely the cream of the crop in my book - I absolutely love everything you do. A true rocker for sure!
You are the man!!!!!
Love this...and really like the twists and turns it takes along the way.
At first I thought the vocals were too low in the mix, but the more I listened to it the more I realised that they were perfect!
Just learning myself how to record drums on the MBR, and this is the standard I need to get to.
Superb song!
this is as good as bacon !
SC can well deserved !
Sweet as..................
Another fine example of ur superb composing well executed
nice production . enjoyed as always cheers NEIL.!
My OH My, Tod.
You are seriously kicking some ass on this one.
Love the lyrics, vocals, bass, drums, well everything.
Damn it man.
U Rock
this is so cool!
Man you come up with the coolest stuff. Doing this on that 6/8 beat is groovin.
Martin
Very trippy/psychedelic vibe here!! Great job RTT!!
Kari
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet bump!!!!!
Fuck me running, this is certifiable. I was sure that Mark was going to be involved in this somehow when the music kicked in. I'm so glad this got bumped up to where I saw it! I absolutely dig it from start to finish Tod.
OTD bumpalicious! How did I miss this one brother, very cool track! I saw you sneaking around here last night, hope all is well with you & ours up in the mountains.
Rock On!
I must not have been very sneaky my friend... All is well on the ranch... Life is good. Had a bit of a run in with some barbed wire and horses yesterday. Needless to say I lost the battle... Horse tripped on fence I just happened to be stupid enough to be in the way of the fence as it slashed my arm up pretty good... I'm happy to say the horse made it out unscathed as did all of the other 27 horses that managed to get loose just before a scheduled ride in the forest.... It's a hoot here I tell ya. Hope everyone is doin good here. Yes I sneak in every so often... Just haven't had much free time. Cheers all.
Nice to hear all is well Tod(apart from the fence thing).
Get some stuff on when you get a chance.
Tod! Good to hear from you again.
Man, you are living large. Wide open spaces, horses, good hunting and fishing. As good as it gets.
really like this plus the fact that I somehow how have Dronefest tracks playing as well gives it the EXtra surreal feel......
I was going through the "old stuff" and I still get goosebumps listening to this. So amazed at what you created, definitely deserved the SC can Oscar!!!
Thanks for the bump Mark... hard to believe it was that long ago. Seems like yesterday!
How strange and disturbing mixing!! Almost too much but it tickles my nerves and dammit I always love that!!
Love the composition as well!
Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails do the same to me..
Good good good 8)

RTT-OTD-BADASS!
Rock on!
"Goodbye fellow man..." That means you have to run back and hit the repeat button, always loved this one!
wow love it , love the vocals , superb song .....cheers tony cee
Great bump, great tune :-)
B
I'm a broken record with this tune, but from beginning to end it is natural, organic and amazing. Yes, I love it!
I guess I will have to be the constant bumper of this awesome tune. "Could it be... Awwww could it be. The earth stood still for me!!"
Tod, you rock!!!
And as bumps are not popular now you will still get one from me as always. The guitar work is friggin' good! I rewind it. And then I hear the bass, and the drums! You have everything!
And one more! To the Tod with one D, I think you're the greatest. If you had the extra D you'd be ruling your own country right now.
That's why they held it back, but lucky for you I have an extra one in my pocket.
Gold plated with a chain, the most beautiful thing you could ever see!!
I'm an idiot. Yes I am.
