This was a completely different (and rewarding) writing process for me.
- I posted the instrumental a month ago.
- Andy Casson offered to help with the vocals.
- I wrote the first pass of the lyrics.
- Andy re-worded & de-worded, and recorded 2 vocal tracks.
- Meanwhile, independent from Andy, I recorded myself singing my original lyrics (in 3 vocal tracks).
- As an experiment, I mixed Andy's and mine together.
This is the result:
2 vocal tracks by Andy
3 vocal tracks by FuzzFace
2 acoustic guitar tracks (picking, panned left and right)
1 acoustic guitar (chords)
1 classical guitar (lead)
1 electric guitar (lead - echoing the classical)
1 acoustic bass (recorded via the mic)
1 drum track
"Dancing Light"by FuzzFace and Andy CassonSunlight beams onto this iceberg
I feel every time and place in this world
(Your heart beats a node on a string of pearls)
My thoughts soar through the sky
(As the day becomes night we come in for a landing
We fill the planet right here where we're standing)
Our tears wash through this dancing light
(Love is our bonfire)
Colours are refracting into the skyline
(Hunting and gathering across electrical wires)
As the day becomes night we're lost in the swirl
(Peer through the eye of our swirling desires)
Where love is the fire burning so brightly
(Tears washed my eyes, ever since I see clearer
weightless and spaceless unable to tire)
Where love is the smile of an innocent child
(Forever travelling, holding you nearer)
My thoughts soar through the sky
(Love is our bonfire
Hunting and gathering across electrical wires)
Our tears wash through this light
(Close your eyes to stop the stars from spinning
Peer through the eye of our swirling desires)
My thoughts soar through the sky
Our tears wash through this light

Although it's a little busy, I think it works really well. Love the spoken out-take intro, fantastic. Has an overall MGMT feel. Great job fellas!!

Trippin'
This is some great psychodelia, Trev & Andy. This takes me back to the Sunset Strip in '66, when Love were at the Whiskey.
Seriously, I love this. I have it on repeat. love it.

I'm not averse to doing another edit.
I don't mind busy, as long as the various parts are complimentary and are not competing with each other.
I'll give it another listen at home on my big speakers and what jumps out at me.
I remember the original post and thought it was cool but you took it so much farther. Happy accidents rock and this rocks. I love the complexity of this arrangement, the vocals work so well at complimenting each other melodically and they read/work together nicely. I'm a big fan of this one guys; it's interesting, complex, and quirky!
Rocktatron!
Just saw your new post and I don' t think it was busy but You might want to consider panning your vocals one side and his the other (harmonies and all), spread them out on there respected side but it might give some clarity. Only a suggestion and I was listening through bad computer speakers! It's awesome as is too!
3 listens now and it's so good!! It's is busy but like you said FuzzFace, I like busy if it compliments it and it so does here!! Well done!
For me, it's not too busy

Glad you like it, man!
I probably won't take out any more lines (I already mercilessly trimmed out half my lyrics to make space for Andy's... I tend to fill write/sing a syllable for every possible beat).
If I do make any changes, it may be levels or panning (as Hook suggests above).
I like your comparison to psychedelia... that's not what I had in mind but now that you mention it... that's cool!
Hey guys... this has a real haunting feel to it.... Been a fan of both of you guys... to hear both of you on the same track... well I consider this a bonus!!! Well done.
My thanks to Trevor for the chance to be creative with his haunting piece of music, I loved it from word go, and I can't take any credit for the lyrics, I was simply playing with Trevor's lyrics and ideas to make the melody I could hear work. Thanks again, absolutely love this song
Cheers
Andy
Love it! The overall vibe is totally gripping...really pulls the listener in. Great collab!
BUMP THIS ALL THE WAY CHEERS NEIL.!!
Really cool guys !! I concur rata's observation on the haunting qualities of this piece.
Busy? maybe a tad, but mostly in a good way !!
Great collab !
WOW............WOW^3.......I have been so busy at work lately I am missing out this great stuff.......Absolutley beautiful and wonderful Trevor and Andy..........I don't find it too busy at all, it is perfect as it is. It is a little masterpiece as far as I am concerned............................(I love it)^3..................yeah, thats a right, to the power of 3 man...............so fine. Really deep and strong song. Trevor, you pulled something out of a hat here. Andy, well, what an amazing vocal, it just really does it for me. Damn fine job guys.
I like it.
Makes me want to listen to it again... and I think I will.
This came on my iPod whilst picking up the takeaway tonight. I love it and wanted to share. Bump
Thanks for the bump...I missed this the first time around.
Maybe a tad busy in the mix, but compelling riffs (no surprise there) and a very cool combo of voices. I almost never say this, but I wish it went on a bit longer.
