Title: "Frozen"
Post by: Hook on November 11, 2011, 11:21:41 AM
A Live take of vocals (mxl 900 about 6 inches away) + guitar(dean acoustic straight in) with 900's P36 dual input patch (whatever that is) , with a little lead,(P82 acst solo) tossed in after.
Song started swimming in my head last Wed. glad to get it out!
Frozen
She's like a lake in the winter frozen to the ground
She laughs & she's bitter she's easily let down
A lifetime of disappointment it's starting to wear thin
And she knows that she need a change of scenery
And she'll never find that with him
She fakes a smile like she's done all the while
It tears her up inside to play this part
She strayed from her dream in the 3rd or 4th scene
But she's still an actress at heart
She's like a lake in the winter approaching a thaw
She's cold but she's brittle and can't handle your weight at all
She's absent without knowing always a million miles away
& the chip on her shoulder is as big as a boulder
& she wishes it would just roll away
She's recited these lines  100's of times
Her delivery is full of regret
She dares not to dream or to even believe
Her life is not over yet
Hope has left her eyes she has no tears left to cry
There is no disguise she just keeps stacking
  Lies upon lies upon lies
She fakes a smile like she's done all the while
It tears her up inside to play this part
She strayed from her dream in the 3rd or 4th scene
But she's still an actress at heart
She's like a lake in the winter frozen to the ground

Glad you got it out - Perfecto!! I felt a tad bit of Willie in the vocals, loved that.

It's a tune you could hear live in a small bar, and everybody turns for a moment to get the listen in.

Very excellent!

I know I've commented on your great vox before but they really are great.

Love the lyrics and guitar work, I'd be a happy man if I could come up with something this good!!

I'm sure that songs like this stem deep from within the human condition.

Familiar but totally fresh!

Sublime song man.

And what a performance!

I'm a fan!

Thanks guy's I think it's a pretty good song!
QuoteI hope your audience love it!
Well I stopped sneaking originals into gigs a while ago and most of the time my audience is 3-5 year olds now so I'm thinking this one's not for them...so that leaves you guys!

The Chip on her shoulder is as large as a boulder... and she wishes it would just roll away... What a great line. Only wish I could come up with something so poetic.
