Title: Effects board
Post by: ianjm on December 16, 2008, 01:51:43 PM
Ive just bought an effects pedal case/board and could do with a bit of info.
Santa is bringing me a couple of stomp boxes. Altogether then I will have a Boss auto wah, a behringer feedback distortion and a Zoom 505 11 multi effects pedal.
The zoom is mainly used as a compressor, with this in mind which order would be best for them to go in on the pedal board. Any help would be appreciated

Ha! The 64000 dollar question.

The sounds you get will vary depending on the order which you plug em in. And which guitar / pickup you use.

Trial and error is what you need and with this little set you will have some great fun trying and tweaking.

The zoom is a months worth of toy to start off with, I've had mine for a couple of years and I still find new stuff.

I would start with the compressor last in the chain and work back. Expressions work best on the signal straight out of the guitar I find for most things but not for all.

Don't try to use them all at once, get used to the variation in tone that you get from each and then see how a single setting can be modified by another box.

Good luck and have fun playing!
