Somebody should use this as the title and inspiration for a parody of The Beatles' "A Taste of Honey".  :D

Not about the BR, of course. But I'm sure the talented songwriters here can think of something more suitable to jest about in "A Waste of Money".

I did a bit of searching and found that Allan Sherman had the same idea 40 years ago.

Oh, well. Someone could still do their own parody of it if they wanted to. Or maybe we can continue this thread by suggesting parodies of other songs. Any ideas?

How about: 'A waste of money, honey' as a song title?

...it's got some songwriting mileage I reckon  :D

Here's one of my favorites (sung to the tune of Nowhere Man) ...

He's a real UNIX Man
Sitting in his UNIX LAN
Making all his UNIX plans
For nobody.

Knows the blocksize from du(1)
Cares not where /dev/null goes to
Isn't he a bit like you
And me?

UNIX Man, please listen(2)
My lpd(8) is missin'
UNIX Man
The wo-o-o-orld is at(1) your command.

He's as wise as he can be
Uses lex and yacc and C
UNIX Man, can you help me
At all?

UNIX Man, don't worry
Test with time(1), don't hurry
UNIX Man
The new kernel boots, just like you had planned.

He's a real UNIX Man
Sitting in his UNIX LAN
Making all his UNIX plans For nobody...
Making all his UNIX plans For nobody.

I can totally relate to this!

Fortunately, since my days as a UnixMan, I have cut my hair, had a wash and a shave, ironed my shirt, found a tie, changed my sandals for shoes and I have learned to speak to girls without giggling or throwing up.

I have changed:

I am a PC.
