Inspired by the (brilliant) John Fante novel 'The Brotherhood of the Grape'. Fante is a great writer, and anyone who likes / gets Bukowski will go for him in a big way. As Buk himself said: 'Fante is my God'.
Quite a simple & unassuming song really. Just an ode to drinking with a bit of harmony. All done on the MBR with 12 & 6 string acoustics, telecaster and bass.
Cheers! :D

Thanks everyone. On reflection, I'm not at all happy with this. Halfway through re-writing and recording a new version, lol.
Another big Hank Chinaski fan here...I'll have to check out this Fante feller... ;)
This sounds like a Greeny classic to me - love all the guitars you always seem to get into a song without ever sounding crowded. Your vocals are sublime - great harmonies!
It sounds fab to me ....I can't wait for version 2.....I really like this one. Why not post the second one up beside the first for fun.
I hope you keep this version as wel Tim!
I Bloody Love it!

Nice groove on that bass, also.
