Sweet track Rob! The keyboards are hypnotic and different sections keep things moving. Psychedelic!

It doesn't sound like 3/4 time so much now, but that's not a problem, its full of proggy goodness!

Some cool guitar tones on here too and a great mix.

This is epic! The lyrics are phenomenal as are the vocals. I love the slow burn of the song, with the pianos and cello erupting into a glorious guitar solo from Tim. Great bump, a wonderful track!

John, I thought real hard about totally re doing this... at the end I left it.. I kind of like the crazy beats.  I started with 140 bpm metronome to play to with a 3/4 signature and played guitar around that.  then I added drums and bass.  I don't know much about timing but I do know that playing regularly with a metronome is changing me in a lot of ways.  I feel like everything is a stepping stone to something more and bigger and higher.

Original Songs / More Lies

Hi all, started this one a few days ago but got a bit bored so production is a bit suspect. Anyhow hope you enjoy.  Willie

Fender Acoustasonic, Ibanez bass, PRS SE Custom, Drums BR800.

You tell more lies than a politician
But you  can't help it you were born that way
You stretch the truth by your own admission
There's a lie in every thing you say

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
You tell more lies than a politician

You say you love me and you really really want me
You say it'd break your heart
If I walked away
But I know that it really wouldn't matter
You'd have another by the end of the day

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
You tell more lies than a politician

Instrumental

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
But you tell lies like a politician

I know deep down that I really really want you
It ain't no secret that I'm stone in love with you
You say I'm kidding and I don't really need you
And I think that you're lying too

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
You tell more lies than a politician

I usually find Vai overwhelming, but not this time. Really enjoyable, emotional playing.

Yes - know what you mean.  I think Vai is very near the pinnacle of technical guitar playing. But although I often listen to him, it is rarely more than one or two songs at a time.  It is often too extreme and always daunting.
