Original Songs / Try Not To Look Down (re-worke...

The original take on this song is here. https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=34933
I was never quite happy with it and wanted to redo it.I'm off on holiday tomorrow to Porto so I thought I'd have one more go at it.
This take is a different beast so rather than replace the original mp3 file I thought this should have it's own thread. This time I used a drum track to play to, played a completely different bass line/riff, plus a wee fiddly 4 note repetitive lead and gave the song a completely new bridge/break. still not 100% happy with it, the version I imagine in my head is still better, but I think this is the last go at it. Be interested to hear listener's preferences. Anyway.

It is what it is.
The future's coming faster
Last week's a lifetime ago
There's no time to take it in
No room to see the view
We hurtle through the stardust
There is no standing still
Balanced on a knife edge
Try not to look down
Try not to look down
We climbed out of the sea
Then walked upon the land
Disappeared into the trees
Then burned the forest down
Survived the floods the wrath of gods
Then took wing to the air
Survival of the fittest
Try not to look down
Try not to look down

Try not to look down x 4

We dip our toes in outer space
And venture further still
There's no more future in this place
We've scraped it inside out
So on we go into the now
There's nothing left to burn
On into oblivion
Try not to look down
Try not to look down

Dark rock. Nice and nasty at the same time. Well put together with strong vox and that dirty, dirty lead!

Not a fan of EDM, but that is because a vast majority of it is one beat and a couple of riffs done to death. This is much more complex and, as indicated, more prog than the simple EDM stuff. This is very good imdeed.

Always good to push yourself musically. That's how we grow. Nice Dylanesque vibe to the song. Nice one!

Can certainly hear the ELO influence. Cool song with a suitably upbeat feel to the chorus, though the lyrics are downbeat. Might be my headphones (probably is), but I found the bass a tad too loud. Otherwise, damn good!

As has already been said, got a 60s pop vibe. Nicely put together and cool vocals. Even the lead is in the 60s style ;-)

Original Songs / Bride in White

Another rocker. I really enjoyed putting this one together. Every part I worked on came out exactly as planned. Not often that happens LOL!

BRIDE IN WHITE

The day you walked into my life
Your smile lit up the place
I'd walk a hundred country miles
Just to see your face

Come on say you will
Won't you be my bride tonight
Come on say you will
Come on be my bride in white

I could wait a hundred years
Or maybe even more
But never would another girl
Like you come through my door

Come on say you will
Won't you be my bride tonight
Come on say you will
Come on be my bride in white

You would make a poor man glad
If you say "I do"
I would give you all I had
'cuase darlin', I love you

Come on say you will
Won't you be my bride tonight
Come on say you will
Come on be my bride in white

Please, say you will

Just say you will

For some reason this post was added to JP his time line on the same subject and it disapeared from my jukebox, so I republish this.
Many thanks to JP for his wizardous work on the instruments and de backingvocals.
