Gear Lust / Re: Tonex one

Quote from: Zoltan on Yesterday at 03:39:33 AMI wasn't going to bump this up, but Ted did it for me so here goes...

For those reading this. The world is your oyster. There's so many options. To anyone (except AndyR) reading this. The Line6 Pod Express might be a better option. At least it's a valid option. Lots of bang for the buck.

Hi, Zoltan, I have a Zoom G1x Four multi-effects pedal,

https://zoomcorp.com/en/us/multi-effects/guitar-effects/g1-four-g1x-four/

which is inexpensive and a few years old, and I got for only $75. It has amp and cab modeling, and pedal/FX modeling.  How do you think that compares with new stuff like Tonex One or the Line 6 you mention? Has there been a giant leap in the technology, that makes those noticeably better? And how do you think the free Neural VST compares with Amplitube 5 VST, which I really mostly use (since I paid for it...), if you know anything about that?

(In any case, it could be that my inferior playing is the limitation, not my equipment...)

Young Regs is blasting out his angst...I can hear it your words, voice and music. Your guitar skills get better and better! The lead guitar work is smokin' and it's all to one chord! I made bricks as a young man also but mine were tiny chocolate bricks...I worked at Hershey. But just the same I couldn't wait to get out of there. Well done Regs!

What a mood builder!

I detect a subtle north African spice in this one.

It takes a certain kind of confidence to pull of a song like this. You've got! An it works!

This is always a dark song! It was written by an American politician, as I recall.

The vocal performance is someone on the verge of imploding or exploding. It's hard to say which. The swirly, fuzzy, phased guitar takes this dark mood to an even darker place: This heartbroken chump might do something dangerous!

I'm getting Devoto vibes here.

Very off-kilter. That guitar tone is unnerving. Excellent!

you have to imagine yourself as a young eighteen year old Reg with a 100 percent mortgage (You wouldn't get one of those now) and a loan for his Triumph Bonneville (I loved that bike) working at the brick company making bricks working on a belt setting 15000 bricks a day two at a time ready for the kiln and he's not happy he wants out he feels old before his time ..he is the bad machine ..but how...how can he get out
Well I fell at the first hurdle my head it hit the floor
I'm not really sure I'm ready
I can take any more
Each day is a mess
everything turns black
I've got that feeling in my heart it is going to crack
Each day seems the same and they turn pretty slow
I can't take another day in this factory
I'm gonna blow
I'm gonna blow

Ive got to escape
I don't know how
But I've got to find a way out this place I got to find it now  I got to gonow

Life is a scream exploding in my mind
I've started turning nasty
I am unkind
I'm viscious with my tounge
I'm viscious with my fists
I'm drinking way too much
I feel like shit
I've got to get away
I don't know how
I got to get away from this place
I'm ready right now

Break

I'd been a fool for way too long
education I saw as a waste of time
I was too busy being cool to give it any time
I couldn't see or I wasn't told
it was a ticket to the big time
So now here I am with presses
banging out my time
Pushing out there produce and me into the ground
Ive gotta get out of this place
I've gotta get now
I I gotta escape
But I don't know how
I've gotta find a way before it pushes me to the ground
I got to go
I got to go

1 track Bass - Fender Squire Modified Jazz bass direct.
3 tracks vocals - 1 lead and two harmonies TLM 103 Neumann Mic.
