Two chords - Am7 and D9 - acoustic guitar, brush drums and double bass and vocals.

Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To get a pail of water...
Till Jack fell down
And he broke his crown
And then Jill came tumbling after

They were screwed.

—-

Now Little Bo Peep
She lost her sheep
And didn't know where to find them
So she left them alone
And hoped that they would come home
With so their little tails wagging behind them

But she was screwed

—-

The Incy wincy spider
Was climbing up the spout
Until along came the rain
And washed down the drain
And flushed poor Incy out

He was screwed

—-

Now little miss Muffat
She was sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and her way
Along came a spider
And sat down beside her
And frightened miss muffat away

She was screwed
And they were all screwed

And what we learn and what they tell
and what we know only too well
Is that life will hold back
and when you think you're on track
It will knock you down
And then, just like Jack
It will break your crown

Love the vibe here. It works well with the rather dour lyrics. Great vocal delivery and some lovely playing. The instrumentation is perfect. I can almost smell the smoke.

The lyric content is fun and truthfully interesting.
I like these nursery rhyme songs.
The music is great as per usual...shout out to the vocals and guitar

Very resourceful use of 2 chords.  Imaginative use of the nursery rhymes.  Enjoyed this very much.

By and large, jazz has always been like the kind of a man you wouldn't want your daughter to associate with.

OK to cover but please let me know first.  Thanks!

Great backing track and creative use of lyrics. Deep, Gritty voice is perfect for this!  Piano part is really cool - that's pretty impressive playing!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Zoltan

Jack and Jill went up to a hill? That's such a lazy line that it becomes a classic!

Is there no limit to this mans talent? The Tom Waits fest turned out to Reggie fest yet ODH is putting out such a smoky song that it becomes a healt hazard for all of those who hear it.

That piano. That bassline. You were supposed to be an indie guy? Punk guy? This ain't punk. This is quality songwriting with strong performances to boot. With two chords? That's plain wrong. I'm sure i heard at least ten. None of which i'm familiar.

Thank you and good night!
