Could i get some feedback on this mix just so i can see where i'm going with this
Tony Jones kindly did some additional Synth , Tubular bells and Jackson with sustainiac

Wow ,., this sounds great Rob and TJ!! Great lyrics as well FF!! Very pro-sounding recording!
I love the keyboard addition by Tony and they are perfect, although i have to say i don't like how it's mixed.
It could be my monitors but I think your vox should dominate all the tracks in the song. It's kinda taken away from the song IMO. I'll have to listen again on my stereo cranked.
Hearing your tremendous vocals is more than important
Nigel can fix that though. Still awesome as hell Rob, and great job Tony!
Hey Rob - this tune sounds about as pro as you can get.I think the mix is "the Mutts Nuts" as you guys say.
Your voice rules man! It's very clean and cuts through pretty damn good to me.
That keyboard is wicked too! Fatter than my prom date.
I can't believe the stuff you guys are putting out for this album. You can take this one to the bank!!
I love the rich background textures, not to subtle, not to prominent.
Has anyone mentioned early King Crimson or ELP? I can't say that this song sounds much like either band, but the dark delivery of this song evokes the same feelings.
I think it sounds wicked, deadly and fantastic. Sounds just about perfect to me. It it were me mixing this I would declare this done. Fantastic job. It is very good to hear Tony J got involved, his keys really add a fantastic dimension.

I second that.
I love west end musicals.....
I must say.... This actually sounds like it is from a Musical....
T.J... Rob...
Andrew Lloyd Webber should be shitting in his Pants!
It took me a while to come around to this, but I like this a lot.
The first version now seems bare.
I wasn't used to the bells and choir so it was distracting. However it is really professionally done and really well mixed.
It's grown on me.
And it does sound a lot like a musical... which is perfect!
Top notch music Rob. Sounds good with the phones on, I'd say you've achieved 10/10 on all levels. PRO.
I'm on headphones with this and I think it sounds perfect. I've listened to it a million times, can't get enough of it. A very moving number.
I also will take back what I said about the single picked guitar sounding a little low in the mix, because it sounds perfect now.
And, I can't get enough of the vocals. Solid gold, hands down.
Beautiful song, my friend - And everyone did a fantastic job. Well done!
Mark
It's posts like this that make me think. The world would be a better place if Rob was a household name. You are one hell of a vocalist my friend.
This is an outstanding piece of music, no matter how you slice it. TJ's additions were fantastic, but the volume swells are what gave this piece an added dimension. Beautiful.
Great additions! Love the dramatical mood on this! Superb performing...

I like the additional parts too. I'm only listening on my PC speakers now, so I'd better not say anything about the mix yet except that it seems to translate well on these cheap speakers. The string pad may need a high shelf/high pass filter around 200 Hz, but these speakers always make muddy sounds, so don't take this for granted.
I'll listen again on my MP3 player later today. This song is for my archive anyway. :)

Steffen
I'm in bed now and listening again. The mix sounds perfect with headphones. And what a great song this is, I must repeat myself. I will listen to this masterpiece A LOT of times more.
Thanks for giving away this gem!

I absolutely second, third and fourth that.
This number is legit to the umpteenth degree.
Agreed with all that has been said. Can't add anything, but awesome.
I realise (to paraphrase someone) that I've been a very naughty boy. I was listening to the whole Picasso project yesterday and I realised there are some tracks I haven't commented on. And this is one, I need to be severely punished as it's effing brilliant and really needs to get some more comments.
Overall, it's the combination of vox and arrangment that really make this a standout track for me. Such a clever combination of instruments to make a deep and multi-faceted soundscape on top of which you have those wonderful vocals. Your vocal performance on this is superb, so many great nuances that bring out the power of the lyrics so well. The combination of guitars and keys is sublime.
I think the mix is fantastic as well. It sounds great on phones but it also sounds superb on my studio monitors, so well done there! You have a great balance of sounds across the tonal range and the vox are mixed perfectly for me - they cut through clearly without overpowering the mix.
Absolutely wonderful Rob and TJ, a really high quality piece of work. And a very beautiful piece of music as well.
Cheers,
Nigel
Listening through today and I wanna say that I really enjoyed listening to this one. The vocals are nearly perfect. A very good song in the project.
Great bump !!!
A gem for sure !!!
What a voice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for this bump! Sounds so good in my head... really pro and beautiful recording!!
I found this beautiful piece looking through the site,
From Picasso songbook, Suffering Machines,
What a voice.
