Quote from: Hilary on February 11, 2021, 12:37:44 AMIt's a serious point - if we suspended them for a while and then brought them back members might realise what they were missing and actually participate.

As someone who rarely participates in the festivals, I would hate to see them go. Each festival gives me a little inspiration – even if I rarely follow through. There are a few where I even got started on a song, but got bogged down or sidetracked. But a little inspiration is better than none.

I'm with Ted... I would be sad to see them go even for a little while. The danger could be that would start a trend anytime we were quiet and eventually they might just die off completely.

I am as guilty as anyone lately for not posting music... been having long term back problems, nothing too serious but I spend too much time on computers as it is so the last thing I need is laying down and mixing a track on my Mac at night. Going to a back specialist but it could be a while before I really get back to where I was. Even been thinking some day about purchasing a second hand BR unit when I have a few quid to spare, that might mean I don't have to be chained to the desk in my home office to make music... haha... yes all this time on Songcrafters and I don't even own a BR - imposter!!   ;D ;D ;)

seeing as you are a Logic user...you might consider getting an iPad and using Garageband...you get the portability of a BR, logic and Garageband share some similarities...and I am finding that garageband on an iPad is a pretty sophisticated bit of kit...I am impressed now that i have been using it a few months...i think it is a very good portable recording system..the lowest priced iPad isn't too expensive

I am usually not 'in tune' with the festivals, but during the last year a couple of time I participated. Anyway, a festival that I gladly participate would be 'massive collab', for example collab made by 5 or more members, would be a great fun !
What do you think?

I take up the idea suggested in my Bank of Ohio cover : murder song It's could be cover or original song...
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

well, it seems to me that there is enough material in my topic https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=31026.0 to make a proposal of festival murder song , original or cover ;)

"Massive Collab" (5 or more Songcrafters contributed) would be really interesting.
