...a bit of jazzy music is not so frequent on SC ...and it's good for the ears
very-s good backtrack by Alfredo and excellent interpretation by Oldrottenhead

I would have liked a guitar chorus at the end of the song ;)

I missed this one when it was posted over 6 months ago. Lovely weaving melodies and those great chord changes to chords I probably never heard of. Nice bass lines too and the overall production/arrangement is first class.

The opening organ and guitars sound cool Paul. Trevor's bluesy vocal and lyrics are top notch. The strings are top notch. The lead guitar work is very tone-full and tasty. I got same eye opening revelation hearing the strings here as I did when I first heard strings in the song Brother Louie by Stories in 1973. Great work gentlemen!

A real good rocker, Ron! I have to say you are a real maniac on the guitar. Excellent growl in the vocals and the guitars. Another rockin' winner!

Original Songs / Act Like a Maniac

I had a blast doing this one

ACT LIKE A MANIAC

I'm tired of doing time, got the police knockin' on my door
I live a life of crime, but I don't think I can take anymore

I'm on the locomotive and I'm heading down the track
I'm leaving this one-horse town and I won't be back
Gonna break all the rules and act like a maniac

I'm mad with frustration and I think I'm gonna lose control
You can lay down your law, but by now you know I won't be told

I'm on the locomotive and I'm heading down the track
I'm leaving this one-horse town and I won't be back
Gonna break all the rules and act like a maniac

I'm on the locomotive and I'm heading down the track
I'm leaving this one-horse town and I won't be back
Gonna break all the rules, gonna act like a maniac

Gonna act
Gonna act like a maniac

Gonna act
Gonna act like a maniac

This is a revamp of the first collaboration we did.  In my ignorance I didn't realise that it was a cover of a song.  I just redid the backing based on Mr Smith's version - so it wasn't much like the original or the more famous slightly later version..  But it worked  rather well and we decided to revisit it with Trevor's new lyrics. I added some more strings and mixed it again - I have got a bit better at it over recent years.  I think this is a justified original song now.

Cool tune.

Blooby

Mostly I use my custom Telecaster which has a Humbucker at the neck and a single coil at the bridge (and use combinations thereof) put through my Marshall MG10. usually one through clean and another through overdrive. Various pedals and/or plug ins are used if I so desire ;-)
