I just had to share this I'm so stoked. I finally got my strat
I played about a hundred of them in several city's and this local one finally spoke to me.
Its a 92 Korean "Pro Tone" with a custom case.
I was able to lower the action to match my Jazzmaster and it's amazing. It really makes me want to play.
Really hot PUPs. I can turn my amp way down compared with my other guitars.
Looking forward to recording with it.
Thanks for listening.

Yeahhhh, thats a beaut Glenn, you make me want to pull my strat out tonight.  There is just something about a Strat that makes them special, when in the Strat mood nothing else seems to do.  It looks immaculate, like it was hardly played.

MGM - It certainly looks the business. How old non-musician Leo F got it right almost from the word go is just one of those lucky things for the rest of us.

That's a great guitar you've got hold of there!! Looking forward to hear it on your recordings, tho' I know the GAS will get even worse when I do.

Cool guitar!  Strats just have something other guitars dont.  Do you use the trem much?

BTW-I really want a Jazzmaster too.

I'm going to try for the time being without the whammy tho I do use it occasionally on the Jazz.
I understand they tend to put the strat out of tune? It doesn't on my Jazz.
I can also do the old neck bend for a bit of drop.

There really is something about the Strat PUPS. From top to bottom each note rings out clearly. Even with hammer chording you can hear each one distinctly. It's as if there is some sort of built-in EQ

The guitar is immaculate. Not a ding anywhere.
It has hardly been played by the look of the frets.
It's amazing how close you can bring the strings down.
The fretboard must be deadly true.
The case is super light. What a difference from the suitcase I have for the Jazz.

There were so many types and options it was mind boggling to decide so I went with the pure unmodified standard.
The HSS ones (Humbuck, Single, Single I think) sounded great too.
There is some hum at my place on switch positions 1,3 & 5 tho it is location specific (Probably the computer nearby?) and I generally prefer the 2 & 4 position sounds which are dead quiet.
I'm told that is due to the individual PUPs being reversed poles or something so when you use a combo of 1&2 (Position 2) or 2&3 (Position 4) they cancel out the hum.

Part of the deal was that I fill in for a missing band member on a local gig.
A win-win situation.
