I think it has to do with the harmonics resonance of the *empty* strings, added with the effects you use during the recording.

         The sounds you are succumbing too, are indeed, harmonic. Resonant frequencies that can almost take on a suggestive quality, especially when effected, wherever the two or more 'noises' will resound in sympathy.
