Winter NAMM runs from January 24 to January 27, 2013 in Anaheim, California.

If I hear of any product announcements that might be of interest to BR users, I'll post them here.

Also, Roland will be debuting new products a few days earlier on their Roland CONNECT website.

Usually I know well in advance what new Roland products were going to be announced at NAMM, but my brother Larry Houston was just laid-off from after 14 years of working there.

Sorry to hear that, Tony. Losing a job is a terrible experience. I've been there a few times and it really sucks. I hope Larry finds another job soon and that he enjoys it as much as he enjoyed working for Roland.

If the pictures on the Roland Connect website are anything to go by, it looks like there will be a couple of new keyboards (probably a synth and either a piano or a keyboard controller), a new HandSonic electronic hand percussion multi-pad, perhaps another v-guitar, and maybe a software product.

This looks like a great product for iPad users:

Seems to have just about everything you could want for connecting mics and instruments to your iPad. And the nice thing is that when you're done, you can just slide the iPad out and leave all of the cables connected to the dock so that it's ready to go the next time you want to use it. And it's only $150 US. I'm impressed.

I think it was introduced at last year's NAMM but it isn't available yet. They were showing it at the recent CES show, so I'm sure they'll also be showing it at NAMM 2013. And I did see one website that says they expect it to be available on January 22 2013, which suggests a NAMM announcement.

Alesis offers a similar product called the iO Dock, which is available now. But it costs $50 more and doesn't seem as cool to me. I like how the Behringer has the controls on top. But, who knows; maybe Alesis will announce a new version at NAMM to trump Behringer.

This guy wasn't very happy with the Alesis iO Dock...

And I saw many other comments from users complaining about hiss from the Alesis. I hope the Behringer doesn't have similar problems.

Where's the Walnut veneer? You can't have a Moog without a bit of wood!

Fabulous sounds though - I'll get shot if I get one.....
