PreSonus is offering a special deal on their Studio One Artist 2 DAW for the duration of the NAMM show (Jan 19-Jan22). The regular price is $99 but you can buy it now for just $20.12 US.

Seems like a half-decent DAW, though the Artist version doesn't include MP3 import/export. I should point out that I know nothing about this DAW, so don't take this post as a recommendation. I merely wanted to let you know about this special offer. You'll need to do your own research to determine if this DAW is right for you. Then again, for $20, you can't go far wrong.

Here are a couple of videos on the new KORG Kaossilator 2.

$160 US street price. At today's exchange rate, that's about £104 which is considerably less than the £168 price I quoted earlier from musicradar.com.

I think I want one.   :)

It's the new TASCAM DP-24 Digital Portastudio. It has 24 tracks and, according to the specs on their web page, it has virtual tracks, though it doesn't say how many. MIDI In and Out. Colour LCD display. Records up to eight tracks simultaneously. No drum machine but it does include effects and guitar amp simulation.

Could be a great recorder if the price is right.

Ooh that is the successor to the 2488neo, and that is extremely affordable (750 euro locally).

BTW the 2488neo has 250 V-tracks, freely assignable (so you can have for instance have 100 v-tracks on track 1, and 4 v-tracks on track 2 etc. )

They say it's based on a new DSP chip. I assume we can look forward to that technology in future BRs.
