The Mic/Guitar switch on the Back of the BR-80 changes the parameters of the Input Sens (Guitar IN selected as the input).

Guitar selected
0 -- +10 DB

Mic
-24 -- +16

Foolishly I didn't check it with other input sources selected.

A question.
Does any of the BR devices have the capability to output a file, mastered or otherwise, as an MP3 or do you
need to make the conversion using an exterior device or editing software?

I use an eBand and it's output is always as WAV files. I convert them in Audition.

Thanks for the info, Geir.
Seems to me that would have been a nice feature to keep, but not a big deal without it.

Kari and Cuth, have you noticed any drive busy errors in LIVE REC mode?

Not yet - I've only recorded in MTR mode so far. But I will put this on my list of things to try.

I've been playing with the BR-80 for the past 4 hours (it came in this afternoon), and it looks like it will work for my application.  I will be primarily using it in JS mode, with my songs ("patterns" configured as .wav file) as backing tracks.  Turns out that both .mp3 and .wav are added as "songs" via the song list editor, which converts both formats to JS mode ("songs").  I can then loop the JS format songs (i.e., my patterns), continuously, tweaking the speed continuously.

The effects sound acceptable - so far they don't seem quite as good as the BR-800, but that may be my imagination.

So far, so good.....
