Forgive me this one. Maybe i'm just a frustrated club / cabaret singer on the quiet, but I had a real laugh recording this last night :D
It's just me, the BR, and an mp3 backing track. i.e. Sad old geezer Karaoke!!!!
I do like this kind of music sometimes though, and it's worryingly fun to do. Don't worry - I haven't gone completely mental. This is just a little distraction from my usual stuff :)
What brilliant fun.
You saddo! ;D
what a refreshing change,nice one , great vocals
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it man!!!!! Your voice reminds me Brian Setzer!!!! that's a good thing to me, i like it a lot!!!!!!
We have to do some rockabilly stuff!!!!!
PERFECT! Man I love this music. You, Deano, Sammy D, and Ole' Blue Eyes ought to go on the road together! I know how to import an MP3 track onto the MBR; how can I then save it as a track to record over?
This is on my iPod as of now. You have your own music folder on my player. You've arrived....
Your voice sounds really good with this one. It is a hard thing to sing this type of music and not make it cheesy. Really well done. You should really do more of this kind of thing (even if it was only for a joke, it was excellent).
Thanks for all the lovely comments guys! Going to bed now very happy :)
Shame I can't drink like Dean Martin anymore!!!! :D
One consolation is that Dean Martin can't drink like Dean Martin any more.
Neither can Frank.
Or Sammy
Yeah, but a year lived in those guy's lives would equal about 30 years in mine.
*Someone please tell me how I can import an MP3 file, then record along with it.

I got the instructions for doing this from this forum - and I know there's a link somewhere on one of the threads, but I can't find it! I'm pretty sure one of the other guys will find the tutorial for this, but if not, it's on my work computer and i'll post it on Monday.
It's easy when you know how, but you need to know the right sequence of steps - and it's not something you could work out by trial and error.
Ill also post the link to the site where I got the backing track for this song - they seem to be very high quality (you should have head some of the skanky versions of this available elsewhere...!).
flashharry got a great sense of humour

* Attach USB cable and copy an mp3 (or wav) from the folder on your computer to the mp3 folder on the M-BR. Disconnect USB.
* Create a NEW song
* Hit UTILITY|TRK|Curser>|IMP
* Adjust Value+/- to select mp3 in folder|NEXT
* Adjust Value +/- until you see: Import to TR12V1
* TIM (leave it at 00:00:00) NEXT
* Import OK?|YES
* Then pan Track 1 to L50, Track 2 to R50 and you're good to go.
magic, pour me a scotch on the rocks now.
If anyone else wants to have some fun with backing tracks, here's the site I got this one from...

Track seem to be £1 or £2 a pop. Not sure about the quality of the others, but this Dean Martin one was fantastic - a proper big band and not a cheesy synth in sight! :)
What a voice, really great stuff Greeny.
BUMP a BUMP a BUMP, goes the BUMP!!!
Tim....
You are a style Whore!
Wear the Lable with pride!!!!!

What a range!
Freaking Style Whore!!!!!!
remember how great this one was.......spider bump.......
I woke up this morning and actually thought " I wonder if it will be a Green Monday?" and since this is new to me ...It is! I love doing different things, trying to expand our musical horizons & I also love this style/era of music. With that said I love this recording and imagine It will get played many times in my various motor treks! You're a really great singer/songwriter and many of your tunes get daily play in speakers!
Rock on!
Damn Greeny... You shoulda been part of the Rat Pack. Nicely bump'd. Would've missed otherwise. Well done Tim.
OTDB! This is a stellar vocal sir. I thought for a while of putting together a standards set or two for the assisted living facility circuit here in the area. I know that sounds strange but it's an easy $100 for an afternoon gig. I have a good friend that did solo jazz gigs with her ipod as a band for years & she could get $200-$300 around town but she's pretty easy on the eyes & can sing quite well. I think it's fun to take on these tunes & with a backer like that you get a great end result.
Croon On!
Oh fabulous Tim . . . just the right amount of cheese ;D
LOL Tim, you sound like one of The Rat Pack and that's a compliment! You've got some Deano's style but I'm hearing a bit more Bobby Darin. Nice big band singing and swinging!
Farrell
Wow! Not heard this one before...
Tim, WOWWW! :D
Brilliant vocal. It's kinda my background as well... (you're into Glen Campbell too, aren't you?) but I didn't feel I could sing very well like that (when I was 17 or so), and then I got into blues and rock, and that's where I ended up....
Still Fabulous
Robbie - this is how it's done.
bumper bumper bumpin it...because...because I can and this is great...
Thanks for the bump Steve - this is just a bundle of joy.
Makes me want to do a big band number now!
What a delight!
