Original Songs / You're Oblivious by Oldrottenh...
Last post by Oldrottenhead - Today at 09:42:43 AM
Plugged in the Tele and this came out the other end. (note to self, redo the drums)Oh the drums are just a loop and i didn't have time to edit them, hopefully up-date that soon.

It is what it is.
Thank your lucky stars
You're oblivious
You just don't know
You just don't know
Put your feet up
And listen to the blues
Safe at home
Safe at home

You watch the sun go down
See the sky turn red
And the birds head home
The birds head home
The stars come out
Shine down on you
and you feel so small
You feel so small

Well you could move a mountain
If you really tried
But you don't have time
No you don't have time
A lazy day
On a sunny afternoon
No need to move
No need to move

You watch the sun go down
See the sky turn red
And the birds head home
The birds head home
The stars come out
Shine down on you
and you feel so small
You feel so small

You watch the bombs fall
On the evening news
But not on you
Not on you
It's only the tv
It's so far away
Nothing you can do
Nothing you can do

You watch the sun go down
See the sky turn red
And the birds head home
The birds head home
The stars come out
Shine down on you
and you feel so small
You feel so small

Thank your lucky stars
You're oblivious
You're oblivious
You're Oblivious

"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" is a song by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, written for the soundtrack of the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Released as a single two months after the film's premiere, it became a worldwide hit, reaching the Top 10 in several countries. The song became one of Dylan's most popular and most covered post-1960s compositions, spawning covers from Eric Clapton, Guns N' Roses, Randy Crawford, and more.

Described by Dylan biographer Clinton Heylin as "an exercise in splendid simplicity",  the lyrics of which comment directly on the scene in the film for which it was written: the death of a frontier lawman (Slim Pickens) who refers to his wife (Katy Jurado) as "Mama".

one of the most covered songs on SC

by Ted in 2022; excellente reggae version ,Clapton like

by Jimlad 38; in 2009,

by TonyBlue in 2010,

by KennyMac; in 2023,

by Holdeempock in 2008; with add piano by Beleg, and add guitar by Tafka

I've listened to them all and enjoyed them all, I hope I haven't forgotten any, it's my way of paying tribute to them.

I've been wanting to do this cover for a long time, not least to include it in my series.

Autotune defo helps and I can spot it instantly on the radio now... gospel to pop to all of em use it...

I like it sometimes for weird madness and sometimes for a little help..

Thanks all for listening and the feedback...
Internet is down here, has been more than 24 hours... i don't know when it will  be back.  I am in the country and they are running fiber optic cable out here and it might mean they are changing over... anyway its hard to just use the phone

Last post by thetworegs - Today at 04:47:35 AM
I bought a new toy a Tonex pedal and had a mess around with it with the bass and came up with this one..I've been watch a lot of Ben Fogels New lifes on Channel 5  catch up and I think its about that getting away from the drudge and starting again  ...Thanks for listening
We'renot alone in not understanding our past
Our conclusion a betrayel
to the intrusion of those who did not last
a fusion of love and loss thats will never be surpassed
We fall from grace
with that memory of the past
We fall from grace
with the memory of the past

Tomorrow we regret before it begins
We know we can not stay on the path no more
The day becomes a drudge before dawn brings the light
Where do we go when we fall from grace
Where do we fall when we fall from grace

The night becomes our cloak of forgiveness
The daylight begins to burn
We've  got lost on the endless road
As we watch our whole life burn
Watch our whole life burn
tomorrow is just another day
the drudge
it carries on
We feel lost like we willl never be found
Ifwe feel alone
not understanding
come to conclusion of betrayel
With the intrusion of those who did not last
a fusion of love and loss
We fall from grace with  the memory of that loss
We fall from grace
We fall from grace
We fall from grace
And get lost oh we're lost
Just get lost
I just got lost

We know if we  carry on down this path
The darkness will take a hold
We must stop for a while
breath
Reassess our lifes and burn
Burn like the pheonix let that old life burn
Become a new in self and body
Find love let go of loss
Adventure into anew day
And let that old life burn away
Let that old life just burn away
Let that old life burn away
Let it go
Lets start a new
Throw it all away
Lets start a new
And make tomorrow a brand new day

General Discussion / Re: My new album, 'Beneath A C...

TC, I managed to listen to the first half-dozen tracks of your album, and straight-away I would contend that your Mom must have been very proud of her child in being able to write and produce such consistent high-quality songs. Well done there. And given the stated melancholic subject of the album, I confess to being a little surprised at having Dylan Thomas leap at me from track 1 raging about the dying-of-the-light! Excellent stuff from the go-get. The range and mixture of these first tracks are for me very well balanced, with the high-spot being the piano ballad Don't Let Go, though none of these tracks ever fall below the 'Excellent, must listen again', category. The musicality and production are top notch, so whatever it is that you are using to achieve this, keep using it. We have a busy Bank Holiday weekend in the UK just now, so I'll try and listen to the 2nd half next week. Very well done to you.  8)

Original Songs / Hideaway (Greco & Green)

I asked to the man, but he's busy, so I think it's up to me to post the latest 'beatles' song from us.
Yes, you'll hear some beatles chord moves, but I think I derailed towards kings of convenience in the middle lol (I liked that band much back in the years). Anyway, for the good I can do, I'll never get used to the level of beauty that comes in return from tim! Here is it

Hideaway

I want to watch the sun come up
far from the madding crowd
a space that doesn't care about the words I say
a place where I can turn the music down

where all your love is just for me
so sleepy and so quiet
I've had enough of the noisy stuff
out there in the wild

somewhere in your heart there is a hideaway
give me a sign and I'll be round
the moon's a cat that's sleeping in your hideaway
I'll lose myself there never to be found

I want the world of war and pain to let be be
Incognito for a while
I want to climb the higher branches of your tree
until I reach the sunshine of your smile

where all your love is just for me
so sleepy and so quiet
I've had enough of the noisy stuff
out there in the wild

somewhere in your heart there is a hideaway
give me a sign and I'll be round
the moon's a cat that's sleeping in your hideaway
I'll lose myself there never to be found

lost at your rainbow's end

where all your love is just for me
so sleepy and so quiet
I've had enough of the noisy stuff
out there in the wild
