A Fine production and performance. Great all around! Your lyrics/vocals are always top notch. The jazzy keyboard added frosting to the cake! 8)

Gear Lust / Re: New Guitar - Taylor nylon

Cool geetar.

I often wonder about getting a nylon strung acoustic - haven't owned one since I was first learning - but then I see another electric I want and "ooo-oooo-ooooooOOOOO!" (I've been quite good so far this year - only two new ones since January ::) ;D )

My worry is always "shouldn't buy a new guitar, no more SPACE!!!" but I kind of get over it with some sort of justifying arguments. I actually managed to shift a guitar... I got rid of my "best" Les Paul - don't worry, wasn't my favourite - to fund one of this year's acquisitions... that was meant to be the start of dealing with space issues, but that failed this week when I got a new sparkly thing.

With a new acoustic (and there are, er, "several" here), "but it's a nylon one!" would be a powerful argument... except for one thing: how much would I play it?

I know some folks - like Bluesberry upthread - end up playing a nylon most out of their various instruments. I'm not sure I would though after scratching the "nylon itch".

I've heard some regard it as the sofa/couch guitar you reach for. But I want folky twang.

Chapperz, it's probably still the honeymoon phase, but how much does it force it's way into your affections?

This is a superb song.
Like the Move morphing into ELO.
Reminds me of early Roy Wood ELO.
I'm a big ELO fan so this is right up my street
I listened to this several times on loop today in my car.
You sound very like Berry patch on this vocally.
Love that guitar break .
Everything about it is top notch.

I understand most of this. It's mostly the same language I used in Bolobolo Woman.

Quote from: hooper on May 25, 2024, 07:11:58 AMA real beauty for sure and kinda unusual to see a nylon string in that finish.

QuoteAnd don't worry about 'those' guys. They don't think it's 'proper' to wrap your thumb around the top of the fingerboard either...lol  ::)

Yep - I do that too! :)

I hear ELO of course but also Beatles. The lyrics struck a chord with me. The melancholy in your lyrics is superb. The vocals are so fitting as is the guitar solo over the final chords - love it

Classy stuff Ray. I would love to be able to create drum patterns like that. Lyrics and vocals are spot on. Love it.

Original Songs / Still In Love

She found the note, pocket of my coat
She saw the text message on my mobile phone
Curiosity stirred, never said a word
Flint like stares and expressions carved in stone
Had me watched, my movements clocked
The PI standing in shadows with Dictaphone
My movements well known

Later in bed a few words said
The gap between us as desolate as no mans land
Tried to speak, said I was weak
She said she did n't want to try to understand
Morning's light she'd taken flight
Alone I lay, alone I sit, alone I stand
Her note clutched in my hand
And this is what she said:

"Still in love; I'm still in love with ya
Still in love, just need a break from ya
Still in love, just need some time on my own
Just need some time on my own".

Would you believe? Would you believe?
She's now crying to me down my telephone
She says she wants to come home
But this is what I said.

"Still in love, I'm still in love with ya
Still in love, just need a break from ya
Still in love, just need some time on my own
Just need some time on my own".

Cool song, mate. Love those ELO -esque strings and nice chord progressions. Well produced and arranged along with great guitar work.
