Original Songs / More Lies
Last post by The Gobi Desert Canoe Club - Today at 04:36:04 AM
Hi all, started this one a few days ago but got a bit bored so production is a bit suspect. Anyhow hope you enjoy.  Willie

Fender Acoustasonic, Ibanez bass, PRS SE Custom, Drums BR800.

You tell more lies than a politician
But you  can't help it you were born that way
You stretch the truth by your own admission
There's a lie in every thing you say

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
You tell more lies than a politician

You say you love me and you really really want me
You say it'd break your heart
If I walked away
But I know that it really wouldn't matter
You'd have another by the end of the day

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
You tell more lies than a politician

Instrumental

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
But you tell lies like a politician

I know deep down that I really really want you
It ain't no secret that I'm stone in love with you
You say I'm kidding and I don't really need you
And I think that you're lying too

Can't get the answer to anything you say
You say it's true then you walk away
You say you heard it on the television
You tell more lies than a politician

I usually find Vai overwhelming, but not this time. Really enjoyable, emotional playing.

Yes - know what you mean.  I think Vai is very near the pinnacle of technical guitar playing. But although I often listen to him, it is rarely more than one or two songs at a time.  It is often too extreme and always daunting.

Great job, Kenny!  The horns are like an icing on the cake.

Interesting.  It sounds like you're doing an odd time signature.  Even multiple odd time signatures.

The mellow side of Ron D!  Something very worth partaking in.

I'm in the right mood for another Willie song.
Terrific as usual.  I can't help but think you're singing about a country we all know too well.  Or at least a city or two.  ;)

This is simply beautiful, Ray.  The music perfectly matches the lyrics.
Nothing is warmer than motherly love.

Original Songs / Her Kind Of Love
Last post by Ray Brookes - Yesterday at 03:33:03 PM
Bit of a soppy, soft-cock song about motherhood. Good or bad, we all have/had one.

Her kind of love
Strongest love in the universe
Her kind of love
Stronger than anything for better or worse
Her kind of love
Stronger still at the moment of birth
Her love so pure
Her love so pure
Her kind of love so pure from breast to the child
Through the challenges and trials
It's all we dream of.

Her kind of love
The mothering arms so stable and warm
Her kind of love
Fights off the threats and weathers the storms.
Her kind of love
Marks on her sleeve where her heart is worn
Her love so pure
Her love so pure
Her kind of love never yields or breaks promises
A love steeped in honesty
It's all we dream of.

Her kind of love
Sometimes planned; sometimes spontaneous
Her kind of love
Always there; remains in us

Her love so pure
Her love so pure
Her kind of love will sing in whole-tone scales
Found in old fairytales
It's all we dream of
Just her kind of love.
