Do I miss my Marshall stack ?
a freakin masterpiece- i love this
great tone-
Great groove, it rocks hard and it is musical and it tells a story in music. I love it. This one would make for great driving music, lets see...download...into IPod...out to the car...hit the gas...I'll come back in a bit and let you know how great this sounds cranked in a fast moving car...SCREEEEEEEEETCHHHHHHH!!!!!
Now ... I don't want you get any speeding tickets over this one !!! 8)
Sometimes I do miss that JCM 800 ;)
I agree with Ron - A hard driving masterpiece. The guitar work is incredible. And drums sound really good - Maybe elaborate when you get back. I can't get that kind of snare sound(Are you changing the reverb or something?)
Anyway - great job with this one.
BB, make sure you keep both hands on the wheel when driving around with this!!
Mark
about to loose my stolen bandwith but just to clarify Mark: it's all MBR !!!
I'll elaborate later
thanx for the kind comments! ! off to the cabin now
Rock,in love it guitar really drives along and that snare is really kick,in
I won't be driving to this. I would get busted for DUI_KAT - driving under the influence of a kick ass tune
Awesome G!
Fingers Must be Burning bro!
Super cool Stuff!
Peace
T(Osckilo)
That is some serious shredding going on there.........it sounds like something steve vai would do, reminds me of that film 'Crossroads', where Vai plays a guitar duel at the end with Ralph Macchio (sorry if that doesnt mean anything - check it out on youtube, classic).........anyway, loved that, the guitar effect is just great and a good driving tune like the others say........top work man.
Dan
Smeggin' AWESOME!
its not the last time i will hear this for sure.
found someone here faster that "the Manx Missile"
T.
Love it! Killer tune, great arranging and playing. This shows there is more to hard rock than quantity of notes, distortion level, and repetition. Very well done in all areas!
My only complaint (and believe me it's very hard to even mention) is the lack of that one full-on crash, power chord, ending? (or maybe that's just me?) :)
What do you mean? With my headphones on........I can sure as hell hear those Marshall's brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss mine too! My wife doesn't!
JUst a superb song Geir. It does really drive. Hey you want to go on a tractor ride in a few weeks. Naw it might be a little slow for you. LOL

How about this one, fast enough for Geir?

Great driven tune with a real catchy hook. You don't need that Marshall, you have an MR!!
downloaded this at the library straight onto my mbr,, gaun yersel geir magic as ever.
Really cool tune Geir - I really dig this!! Sounds Satriani inspired to me - kinda like a Banana-Mango on speed!! Luv the hard driving nature of this tune!!
Sounds like a Marshall stack belting this out to me dude - oh maybe it's just the Marshall stack in my head....
Sorry for the bump(s) ... Just wanted to say thank you for the kind comments !!!
This tune started as a "jam" in my old band LiFF around 1994. We never finished it so I picked it up last week, and realised my fingers are NOT as fast as they once was. Had to practice for 3-4 days before I managed to play the fast parts (the em-riff and the ending of the first solo). I've adding some new parts but the major riffs and powerchord bridge is the original.

the drums uses are the "HEAVY" kit on the mbr and I think I used dance-comp mastering effect. The drums don't fit perfect everywhere, and I'm sure my brother (and drummer in LiFF) will be pissed, but it was as close as I could get with the mbr-patterns !!
Rock on Geir
Great Stuff the Drums are particularly sweeeeet!
and the driving Bass keeps well driving
and of course killer licks
Moooooooooooove it indeed. Chugs along beautifully, great rocker, great guitars. Who needs a Marshall stack? I miss mine but the thing I don't miss was that it was a such a pain to Move It! This 52 year old does not like lugging 4x12s around anymore......
Cheers,
Nigel

Yep .... a real backbreaker those 4x12's!!
I prefer to put my Marshall-stack together with my fender-combos, vox and all the other amps and gear in my pocket these days ;D
So many new songs to catch up on! Getting through 'em slowly but surely...
You really rocked out on this one, Geir! GREAT guitar work and you programmed the BR robot rhythm section to perfection. A lovely balance of heavy and melodic. Beautiful work.
That rocks!! Damn, you're good 8)
Great rocking tune. I got a early Maiden crossed with Vai feeling from this.
JCM 800 sounds awsome!

That Maiden reference is quite appropriate, funny thing is that I was going to add some harmonies to those guitars but skipped it because when we jammed it in LiFF back in '94 we did it as a trio (the singer and the other guitarist hadn't shown up for the rehearsal)
maybe I'll do it again some day with those harmonic guitars .....
Sorry for the bump, but I'm posting this on soundclick now and was looking for a pic. This is what I found :

Huh! What a tune/skills/sounds!
I read this thread through and at first I wondered those drums, but there's the answer above. The Micro BR is a real magic box. This'll encourage me to practise with drum patterns. Good work on each level!

As promised ..... A shameless self bump ;D
Nice,,,I'm actually thinking of ditching the amp all together and plugging my line 6 xtlive into the p.a. Purely for ease of gigging as I'm fed up with carrying gear out.
I actually remember this one Geir. Maybe we should try to develop it further together at some point? If you still can play it. ;) ::)
Love it Geir! The guitar sounds awesome.
Great ROck...........loved it. superb
bump..one of your best to date....!
Happy New year..2014 ......Neil.!!
This is smokin' awesome guitar work!
OTD bump! This outrageously riffaliciously rocktastically badass in every way something can be badass. So cool it makes me realize that I will never be cool.

OTD....
Bloody Brilliant.......
Another cracker I missed, well done Geir...
Alex
Outstanding!
I know this an old track, but I must have missed it when it first rolled around.
Great mix of Satch, and Iron Maiden styles. Your guitar tone rules.
I always knew you were a metal-head at heart Geir.
Way to own this one!
Wow... missed this one... Geir this is a scorcher... Get the fuck out of this mans way or he'll run you over with a fury of rockitude.
Time for another bump for this masterpiece...
8 years ago today...
