Well I went out to look at some pa's today, the shops would not budge on prices.
So I ended up buying a Custom Vibe 50's Telecaster I found there. The price was too good to pass up, a floor model with ding or two in it.

The Vintage Blonde

21-fret vintage tint gloss maple 9-1/2" radius "C" shape neck
Maple fingerboard
Medium jumbo frets
Custom Alnico III Telecaster pickups
Resonant pine body just like the early Esquires
Chrome hardware including vintage-style tuning machines
Vintage-style Tele bridge plate w/brass barrel saddles

Upshot though I did get to fiddle with the TC Helicon VoiceSolo FX150 , quite an interesting device!
I will have to keep an eye out for it going on sale!

Not bad actually maybe even down to defcon 2!
Not winning the ebay on the line-6 dl4 and agreeing to drive all over the place to visit her relatives this coming 4 day weekend seems to have smoothed things over.

When the summer holiday season is over I'll start getting back in trouble with the PA thing.
At least I'll have the winter to recover if something real bad happens!
