The above link gives another idea too, Geffen Fest, lots of varied good acts signed by David Geffen!

A Pachelbel's Canon fest would be cool :) You could write your own song using the chordprogression of the canon or cover a song that uses all (or parts of it)

Suggestions noted. Thank you.

Here's one I just thought of:

GrumpyFest - Be a grumpy old fart and write a grumpy song about a pet peeve or anything that makes you feel angry or grumpy.

I think that could be fun, and a good way to vent some anger or frustration.

Victor would approve.

(Actually, he'd probably complain about it.)  :D

I prefer to call the Pachelbel festival (which is a better, more concise name) the Sensitive Female Chord Progression as named by Marc Hirsh.

Here is his original article that led to the (in)famous labeling:

Actually, the chord progressions used in "Four Chords" by Axis of Awesome (I–V–vi–IV or I–iii–vi–IV) and the Sensitive Female Chord Progression (vi–IV–I–V) are a bit simpler than Pachelbel's Canon which is an 8-chord progression (I-V-vi-iii-IV-I-IV-V) made up of 5 unique chords (I-iii-IV-V-vi).

In the key of D, the chords would be:

    "Four Chords":   D - A - Bm - G
                   ( I – V – vi – IV )

               or:   D - F#m - Bm - G
                   ( I – iii – vi – IV )

Sensitive Female
Chord Progression:   Bm - G - D - A
                   ( vi – IV – I – V)

Pachelbel's Canon:   D - A - Bm - F#m - G - D - G - A
                   ( I - V - vi - iii - IV - I - IV - V )

Picking up on Groundy's Shore of Gallipoli post, and given where we are with WWI centenary, how about a festival commemoration / war / anti-war songs?
