I'm surprised that they're almost identical in size. I could have sworn from some of the pictures that the BR-80 was much thicker. But the specs on Roland.com claim they're both 22 mm. thick.

You're just going to confuse Geir with all those Imperial units, 64G...

If I buy/use a metric version it'll be 10g heavier, but if I can get my hands on an Imperial version it will be the same weight as the Original MBR - could be a major consideration for older folk with a bad back, etc... and is there any difference if I use it am/pm? :D

Interesting how it's almost the same size, though. I was thinking it must be a "bit" bigger.

And hot off the press: during the commute into London this morning, the impending release of a BR-80 came up in conversation with the missus. With very little information ("Boss are replacing the MBR, 8 tracks, same size, about £200..." that was it) and with very little influence from me, she appeared to be of the opinion that I needed one :D

Try this...

orh: Lookee here at these specs, it's got two mics...

mrs orh: And?

orh: Well, can't you see?

mrs orh: No... eat yer dinner

orh: I can record two songs at once...

mrs orh: And this helps because?

orh: I'll get me stuff done in half the time, more quality time with the family...

mrs orh: Oh alright... as long as I can bust one of the mics if it turns out we don't like the improvement...

Job done!  :)
