Good luck to anyone else in England / Wales! Apparently it's ok in Scotland for now.
This is how it looks (as of a few minutes ago...)

Here in Cornwall, it's raining like fuck. As usual. And a balmy +8 degrees C. Tee-shirt weather. As usual. 8)

Isn't it supposed to snow in the winter? I get worried when it doesn't :-\

Exactly, although Britain goes into meltdown every year after a few flakes.
:D

Exactly, although Britain goes into meltdown every year after a few flakes.
Last year here in Toronto I think it snowed once and it was very light snowfall and it was hardly even under 0°C all year.
This year I think were on our third snowfall as of last night and it's -15 and do I ever hear the bitching and moaning from everyone :'D
I'd rather live in a safe cold country than a hot country with bombs dropping on me any day!!
Or even worse a cold country with bombs dropping on me!! :-*
- 4 F this morning in Eagle River AK.... we got about 10 inches of new snow this week, but now the cold has set in... usually doesn't snow unless it warms up to about 20 F... So for now I guess wrap up and stay warm!!! BRRRRRR
20F? Why do you have to make me google convert?!! :D
It got into the 50's last night actually wore a sweater with my shorts this morning. I haven't seen real snow in almost 15 years!
You should get yourself up the top of our hill Hook its about -5 and a foot of snow it takes a true Yorkshire man to be in his shorts and jumper up here where the airs thinner.....freeze on!

You know you are so very right.
I still look at my weight in pounds. When I do quotes everybody still does square footage and in carpentry and penis length, men still use inches :)
My penis is 8 inches long sounds longer than 20 cm for some reason doesn't it? :D

LMFAO....
I still never understood why they kept the name Micrometer even when it measures in thousandths of an inch... But hey I'll take thousandths of an inch over millionth's of a meter any day... too many numbers... and then there's those pesky microns... What kind of rocket scientist thinks it's easier to measure when 2.54 microns = .0001... Just my thought.
What was the topic of this thread again???
Ok back on track we got 254 mm of new snow or 254,000 microns of new snow.... Now you tell me... wasn't 10" easier. Just saying... I must say that 254 mm of penis sounds much larger though (LOL)....

But the US has taken the first steps toward the metric system. Their bullets are measured in millimetres and their dope is measured in grams and kilos. I guess it shows where their priorities are. ::)
I prefer to buy dope by the pound... and shoot tons of ammo at ATM...
Snow!

About 266 and light snow here south in Norway.
Just got back from my shift in the coooooooooold shipyards, freezing out there, but now home with a beer and a great central heating system thanks to old rottenhead,it's amazing what you get from this site lol ;D
Quote from: Geir on January 18, 2013, 01:39:59 PMAbout 266....
Ha, what were you measuring bro. Surely not snow... ;D
Yesterday morning, when I biked home from the night shift here was -25°C (-13°F). Biking is pretty hard in that temperature because lubricants in the bearings doesn't work anymore...
More snow? Yes, since afternoon :)

This one is from the island a couple years ago...
Mmmmhhh...no, absolutely no snow here in Palermo...yes, a little cold (10-12°C), some rain, some wind....
Snow in Palermo is a rather uncommon thing, it happens once every 10-15 years or so...
It's so unusual that even the great John Renbourn composed a tune called "Palermo Snow", and his last CD has the same name:
...this because when he came here for one of his concerts, it was the end of the Eighties (I was there!), there was some "light" (compared to what I see now on this thread) snow, something anyway absolutely new for many Palermo inhabitants, and John was amazed looking at their surprised face: he told me about the story of the tune, in an interview he gave me some years ago for a monthly music magazine I was writing for...

261.15 today.
Not that much snow (0.2 m or so), but the sea has started freezing.
An old picture - always makes me laugh though! Don't park too close to water when its cold!!!!
I think the picture is from Switzerland.

Beautiful picture, Kari. I love freshly-fallen snow. The deeper, the better.
I took this one on my mobile phone on this afternoon. In real life it was much more impressive than on photograph...

Another one, taken a few weeks ago...
I decided to get a firsthand account of accumulation... so I went out in the yard to take some measurements... I estimate the berm I'm measuring in the pic is about 2,540 mm...

Did I mention it's been 15 years since I've seen snow!
Wonderful photos, guys. Geir, that sunrise reflecting off the water is beautiful.
Nice pics guys. Some really stunning scenery you are blessed with (with the exception of Rat-a-tat's pic - ugh!).
Not a flake on the ground here in my part of Southern Ontario. Windier than hell last night though.
I took the outdoor Christmas lights down last weekend wearing a sweater (no coat). Unbelievably nice weather.
Hey Geir - Does that lake freeze up? If so - do you ever do any ice fishing on it?
Quote from: Vanncad on January 20, 2013, 09:29:26 AMHey Geir - Does that lake freeze up? If so - do you ever do any ice fishing on it?
it's actually the ocean, and yes some years it freeze up. A couple of years ago it froze all the way out the fjord. That was during a loooooooooong period of 253.15 and below tho. I also had big problems with ice under my cabin that year. I don't do much ice fishing tho. I prefer using my time at the cabin for my musical projects :)
64G, yes it was a stunning view that day. And luckily I get those days quite often in the wintertime, so even tho its mostly a summer cabin I try to use it as much as time permits also in the wintertime.
253.15 - man that is cold.
Once camped in the snow at 258 and that was bitter - even in a down sleeping bag.
Winter is coming .... ;D
Its not really been away here... ;D
Always fucking summer here!
