I didn't listen to a lot of The 13th Floor Elevators music but I'm familiar with their most commercially successful song, You're Gonna Miss Me. Their sound was definitely on the cutting edge of the psychedelic genre. Using the electric jug in their line up was quite unique. 71 years of age is way too soon to be leaving the planet....RIP Roky Erickson.
