Still have to futz with the drums some more, but stumbling on that drum pattern that sets off that twisted middle eight still makes me smile.

This song has that "center"-esque sound that i have to ask how to you approach panning?

I'm always playing around panning yet often feel like mono would be most fun. Then i'll try it as mono and forget about it. Seems that many of the songs i like have the kind of mix that sounds almost mono when played at a low volume and spread out when cranked.

Even bands that supposedly use hard panned guitars (!). Often it's easier (at least for me) to hear and enjoy stuff if it comes more towards the listener than spread all over the place.

This song has that center -vibe going for most of it yet starts to "spread out" when cranked.

That ending phrase: That sucked! was fun :D But no it didn't.

Great stuff although i hope you didn't just jinx me with insomnia!

I love the punk rock kind of vibe to this. Great sound. The music is all spot on. Brilliant guitars and drums.
Great lyrics and a catchy chorus, brilliant vocals.
It didn't suck !
I have 2 profiles on this site, (NOW COMBINED INTO ONE PROFILE PAGE)
One is a musical partnership with Keith Allen, ( we record songs as "The Devil's Toupee").
The 2nd one is for my other musical projects and collaborations. (DarrenG)
Thanks for listening.

This is like punk 60's with a touch of grunge like Smashing Pumpkins.
Lurker goes all into the "chorus" as the chorus goes prog... I think this bridges into at least 5 genres.
that is one of the things I love about musicians who have been around for a long time that write songs...  you get some really crazy vibes...
that sucked!  really good like a Dyson vacuum

I can tell the drums are canned but they really work on this...  we should have a same drums fest where ever y song in the festival uses the same drums track...

I never really know what I'll get when I push play on one of your songs, but I know I'm always in for a treat.

This is no exception.

Love it

Oh well ........

Lurker

Silly me to go to sleep while Bruce stays up to continue mixing.

Just posting the lyrics before I go to work.

Awakened by a feeling
Staring at the ceiling
Mind is running
Thoughts keep coming
Should be sleeping

Turning seeking comfort
Throwing off the covers
Too cold too hot
Something forgot
Clanking mental clutter

Insomniac
Staring at the black
Insomniac
Sleep come back

Hearing every sound
Get up walk around
Consternation
Desperation
Cannot calm down

Insomniac
Staring at the black
Insomniac
Sleep come back

Waking thinking
Can't replace dreams
Midnight's manager
Psyche's screen

The alarm doesn't wake
Just signals the break
Of unwelcome dawn
Time yawning on
One more sluggish day

Insomniac
Staring at the black
Insomniac
Sleep come back

Insomniac
Staring at the black
Insomniac
Sleep come back

The sustaining, shakin' (tremolo or whammy?) power chord that carries on into the verses after the choruses caught my ear. It's funny the things we key in on. The staccato, muted picking in the verses is another highlight. Excellent lyrics and vocals by Lurker. I agree with all the other comments...it doesn't suck, lol!

Great track, guys. Excellent guitar work and lyrics. Love that muted guitar picking and fantastic vocal. Nah, this does not suck at all.
