I've been so lonely
I've waited for so long
Someone as lovely as you has finally come along
It seems a lifetime since I've known happiness
Now I have someone who will give me their very best
It's all so true
I know it's you

You tell me precious words
You whisper in my ear
No matter where my mind is
You always hold me near
When times are gloomy and tears run from my eyes
Your voice speaks softly to me
You give me a place to hide from all that's cruel
I'll run to you

And when you touch me with your ever sweet caress
You give me answers
You're the key to my happiness
My life's so simplified just because you're here
I never thought my life could be so dear.

I guess it's true
I'll run to you.

good golly gee... the lyrics are brilliant!

the piano captured me at the off... I was instantly pulled into the track.  This is how it was for me when I would plug in a Chicago 8 track in the player... so perfect... so good.. so changing and yet the movements are so wonderful... the song takes me on a journey that feels a lifetime in 3:33.... and damn man you have to be something really understanding of music and how to deliver the goods...

brings me to happier times... to more understandable times.

Always impressed with your songwriting skills Johnbee! Like a cross between Randy Newman and Donald Fagen.I lIke the cornet introduction and then into Beatle-esque strings. Cool job!

BerryPatch

Stellar chords and melody, both are strung together so perfectly. When you get to the end part, the rush of strings and the strong vocal/lyrics are excellent.

I'm really glad to hear another song from you John.
This is a lovely sad, sweet love song.
The chords and melody is perfect. Great arrangement. Love the strings. The horns sound really nice.
Great singing and lyrics.

Another lovely song, John. Always love the way you arrange your songs; bass-lines are always interesting and tasteful orchestrations along with great melodies. Lead vocal and harmonies are spot on. Great job.

A lovely piano intro and throughout, John. The whole arrangement is working for me. The strings, the bass and the horn solo in the middle eight are fantastic. A very cool melody, vocals and lyric. Awesome production and mix!

Love the build up of the arrangement. Composition is outstanding with the chord and melody interplay used. Like the vocal harmony as well. Nice piece of work! 8)

A nice song with the usual great production and performance. Particularly like the trumpet and backing vocals.
